SIDI SPORT CONQUERS CHINA
Historic victory for Tony Martin at the Tour of Beijing
Maser (TV), 10 October, 2011 – The athletes from Sidi Sport stables are standing out as major players this end of season. In fact, Sidi’s wave of success is continuing around the world.
Germany’s Tony Martin (Htc) achieved an historic victory on the roads in China at the Tour of Beijing. The Chinese stage race is a new entry on the 2011 World Tour calendar, and for the first time in history it extended the traditional boundaries of professional cycling. After the joy of the time trial World Title, which he just won in Denmark, the German delivered Sidi yet another nice prize, winning the inaugural time trial in the Chinese race and wearing the leader’s jersey all the way to the top step of the podium in Beijing.
The Tour of Beijing also shined a special spotlight on young, up-and-coming talent like Italian Elia Viviani (Liquigas Cannondale), winner of the sprint in the fourth stage, which featured spectacular scenery in the shadows of the Great Wall of China. It’s been a remarkable season for Viviani, who’s been winning on roads all over the world this year, from the United States to China, across Europe and even through India, not to mention his important victories on the track.
Australian Heinrich Haussler (Garmin Cervelo) also gave Sidi success in the second stage and in the final fraction Denis Galimzyanov (Katusha) delivered as well. Things could not have turned out any better for Sidi in China at the Tour of Beijing, where we literally dominated the race, winning four out of the five stages as well as the final classification. Britain’s Christopher Froome (Sky), was also on the final podium for Sidi, taking third place in the general classification.
Sidi can also celebrate a “recovered” champion. We’re referring to Filippo Pozzato (Katusha) who was back to raising his arms in the air on Sunday, October 9th, in the Gran Premio Beghelli. This is the first season win for the strong Italian rider, who’s already looking ahead to the 2012 season, proving that in addition to victory he’s also rediscovered serenity, motivation and self confidence. Good job Pippo!
SIDI SPORT ENDURO WORLD CHAMPIONS WITH JUHA SALMINEN
It's the eighth career world title for the Finn rider
Maser (TV), 3 October, 2011 - Sidi Sport continues collecting important titles in the off-road sector. After success in motocross with Tony Cairoli, who has just won his fifth world championship title, now it's the Enduro field that is carrying Sidi to the top step of the podium, on top of the world in this specialty. On Saturday, October 1st, in the French Grand Prix in Mende, which marked the last 2011 World Title test, Finland's Juha Salminen once again latched on to his direct rival, Eero Remes, without letting up, for a completely Finnish final podium which saw Salminen on top of the E1 World Title standings in front of his fellow countrymen Remes and Seistola. This victory was built up, race after race, in yet another exceptional crowning season for the Finnish ace from team Husqvarna. Success was already in the air after the Andorra Grand Prix, the second-to-last test in the World series, but to be mathematically certain Salminen had to wait for the French trial, the final act in the World Championship title.
Reaffirming their number one status in off road enterprises, Sidi Crossfire was right there next to Salminen in his winning ride across the most impervious terrains on routes throughout the world, where riders have always had to overcome the most disparate and difficult weather conditions.
These are record numbers for Sidi and Salminen; in fact, with this victory the Finn rider has taken his total career world titles to eight, thus beating the record of seven titles he had been holding, together with another two great Enduro riders like Anders Eriksson and Kari Tiainen. And Juha Salminen seems to have no intention of stopping here...
Salminen was not the only one holding the Sidi Sport colours high in the Enduro Championships. There's also Frenchman Christophe Nambotin, who took second place in the E3 class rankings at the end of a nice season which saw him in the race for the World Championship rainbow title. Unfortunately, Nambotin is still being held up and he's not completely at 100% due to the recent fall he suffered in the final of the French Championship. However this placing has a special taste for Nambotin and for Sidi, because it was obtained on the back of another ace in the specialty like Finland's Mika Ahola, who earned his fifth career World Title in 2011.
TONY MARTIN'S MASTERPIECE
The Gold Medal for Sidi in the Championship TimeTrial in Copenaghen
Maser (TV), 22 September, 2011 - Tony Martin is the new World Champion in time trial racing. Sidi Sport shoes shared in this extraordinary enterprise by the German champion. It was a perfect mix of concentration, determination and power that allowed Tony Martin to complete his masterpiece in the Championship time trial. In fact, Martin literally dominated the test, which took place on Wednesday, September 21st on the 46.6 km route through the roads of Copenhagen (Denmark). Martin clocked the best times in all the partial counts and then crossed the finish line with a time of 53’.43”.85. With this super impressive time the German put all his adversaries in line behind him; not an easy task if you consider they are some of the best riders in the world in this discipline. Britain’s Bradley Wiggins and Switzerland’s Fabian Cancellara, who’s another great name from the stable of Sidi champions, respectively took the silver and bronze medals; all they could do was settle for the lower steps on the podium.
GIORGIA BRONZINI DOUBLES HER WORLD TITLE IN COPENHAGEN
The Sidi Sport World Champions
Maser (Treviso), 27 September, 2011 – Sidi Sport is wrapped in the championship rainbow colours. After German gold for Tony Martin in the men's time trial, Sidi also took the top step on the podium in women's road racing with Italian Giorgia Bronzini, who reaffirmed herself as World Champion in Copenhagen, doubling down on the success she achieved last year in Geelong, Australia.
Bronzini captured victory with her legs as well as her heart on the Copenhagen circuit. In a tremendous feat she managed to come back from what up to now had been a lacklustre season for an athlete of her calibre. As she did in 2010, with a fantastic final sprint the Italian champion blew away the super strong Dutch woman Marianne Vos and German Ina Teutenberg; to win against such formidable rivals makes this victory all the sweeter. Giorgia Bronzini now joins the impressive ranks of Paolo Bettini and Gianni Bugno, as the only Italian riders in history to bring home the World Title two years in a row, Bettini in 2006-2007 and Bugno in 1991-1992.
But Sidi's joy doesn't stop here. In addition to the two golds captured by Martin and Bronzini, Sidi's medal haul from the World Championships in Copenhagen also shines with the gold won by Frenchman Arnaud Demare in the Under23 road race. This is proof of how Sidi supports not only champions who are already affirmed but also young talents who may become tomorrow's champions. Rounding out Sidi's success in Danish territory is also the lovely silver medal in the women's time trial won by New Zealand's Linda Melanie Villumnsen.

The shoes were presented during the dinner organised by Sidi Sport to celebrate San Crispino, the “Protective Saint of shoemakers”, which was held in Castelfranco Veneto (TV) at the Egidio Fior Restaurant, where cycling is right at home. The Marca trevigiana region is a uniquely charming territory, a magic place where great cycling and the tradition of shoemaking intertwine to create unique stories. SIDI DOING GREAT ON THE ROADS OF THE VUELTA
Stages and classification
Maser (TV), 30 August, 2011 - The 47-km individual time trial in Salamanca on Monday, August 29th, which came a day before the rest day, wrapped up the first phase of the 2011 Vuelta España. After the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France, the riders from the Sidi Sport stables are standing out as major players in the Iberian stage race as well. At the moment Sidi can gaze down on the competition thanks to Christopher Froome (Sky), who closed out the time trial in second place to become the new leader in the general classification. It was an immense joy for this British rider who was born inKenya in 1985 and came to the Vuelta to help his captain Bradley Wiggins, but who now finds himself in command of the race. Sidi Sport enjoyed plenty of satisfactions and results in these first stages. We shined in no less than six stage victories, a truly fantastic result. Athletes wearing their Sidi shoes to the highest step on the podium included Pablo Lastras (Movistar), Dani Moreno (Katusha); the Slovakian champion Peter Sagan (Liquigas Cannondale) who’s in top form and having an extraordinary year; Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha), “Purito” author of a magnificent double, first on Valdepeñas and then on Escorial; he’s also wearing the green jersey for the points classification; and Tony Martin (HTC) who gave an outstanding performance in the time trial in Salamanca. Sidi has also had the thrill of wearing the red jersey, the symbol of the leader in the general classification, first with Pablo Lastras, then with Purito Rodriguez, both of whom led for a day, and now we’re with Chris Froome, hoping he can hang on to it as long as possible. In the following days there will still be lots of climbs to take on before arriving in Madrid, and in the Sidi house we’re also looking forward to a good performance by Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas Cannondale), winner of the 2010 Vuelta. The show is just getting started!
IMPORTANT SHOWCASE FOR SIDI SPORT AT THE EICMA IN MILAN
More than half a million visitors
Maser (TV), 15 November, 2011 - Some important numbers have come in from the 2011 edition of the International Motorcycle Show in Milan, which took place from November 8th to the 13th , on a surface area of more than 135.00 square metres, including indoor display space and areas for open air demonstrations, with 1174 exhibitors coming from all over the world, spread out over 7 pavilions. Overall, the EICMA received more than 500 thousand visitors. The event was definitely a success, as confirmed by the organisers, with a 20% increase in the attending public compared to last year. “Definitely, once again this year our participation in the EICMA was a very positive experience,” comments Rosella Signori. “The show is certainly an important occasion to consolidate existing business ties and to make new contacts on a national and international level. EICMA is a major event for all two-wheel enthusiasts, as shown by the impressive numbers of fans who visited our stand for the chance to get a close-up look at products from the Sidi Sport collection, including all the latest from our 2012 catalogue, as well as the chance to meet our champions.”
The new collection. Sidi introduced some new trends, including new appealing colour schemes in fluorescent black/yellow on the road models of the Vortice, Vortice Air and ST, as well as the off-road models of the Crossfire and Crossfire SRS. The Tour Gore, Tour Rain, Traffic Rain, Street Rain and Apex boots were introduced for the Touring sector. There was also ample space dedicated to the growing women’s market with the new Livia Rain model and a new, black/white colour scheme for the Vertigo Lei boot. In addition to all the new items in the 2012 catalogue, the public could also admire and appreciate some special editions from the Sidi collection, like the gold Crossfire boot which Tony Cairoli wore to the top of the championship podium this year, the “Cairoli replica” version of the Crossfire model used by the very same motocross super champion, and then the black and gold Sidi Vortice commemorative boot to mark the 50th anniversary of Sidi’s history which was worn by all the riders in the MotoGP for the 2010 Qatar GP, and the Vortice “Colin Edwards replica” boot, coloured in the stars and stripes in dedication to the American rider, a veritable collector’s item that was introduced to the Italian market in a special limited edition.
Sidi champions. Plenty of stars from the Sidi Sport stables visited the stand during the expo, to the delight of all the fans and enthusiasts present who were eager to meet their champions and pose for pictures with them. Without a doubt the most popular was MX1 World Champion Antonio Cairoli, who was inundated with requests for photos and autographs. He threw 500 Sidi commemorative t-shirts into the crowd to mark the occasion and they went like hotcakes. There was also a succession of Moto GP riders on hand at the Sidi stand to meet and greet the fans, including Loris Capirossi, who has just wrapped up his brilliant career, Alvaro Bautista and the trial ace Adam Raga. And there weren’t just riders...in fact, three-time World Cycling Champion Oscar Freire paid Sidi a visit, as did the Italian women’s road and time trial champion Noemi Cantele, both huge motorcycle and motor buffs who have been spokespersons for the company in the cycling sector for years.
CAIROLI CLOSER TO THE 2011 CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
Czech Republic GP
Maser (TV), 08 August, 2011 - Tony Cairoli would like nothing better than to win all the time and put on a show for his fans, but this time the super-champion from the Sidi Sport stables ran an intelligent race and didn’t take any risks as he focused specifically on the championship rankings. Great champions are also made of this. On Sunday, August 7th, on the Loket circuit in the Czech Republic Grand Prix, Cairoli won race1 and then settled for second place in the final classification for the Grand Prix won by his direct rival, Clement Desalle. Little does it matter, because now, with just three races to wrap up the World Title, Cairoli leads the MX1 motocross standings with no less than a 48-point advantage over Belgium’s Desalle. Sidi Sport completed a day of celebration with Portuguese Rui Goncalves, third both in race1 and race2, which carried him to third place on the final podium for the Grand Prix; there was also Estonia’s Tanel Leok, who came in second in race2. When Cairoli and the other stars from the Sidi Sport stables are fighting it out in the mud and shining on the podium, they can always count on their Sidi Crossfire boots, the number one footwear in the world of motocross. Cairoli just keeps adding record numbers to his portfolio, which already boasts four championship titles: two in MX2 (2005 and 2007) and two in MX1 (2009-2010). He’s already obtained 10 podiums in this season alone (4 victories, 5 second places and 1 third place). He’s won a total of 87 heats and 41 Grand Prix races in his career (24 inMX2 and 17 inMX1), which makes Cairoli the fourth most victorious rider of all time, a category led by another first class ace from the Sidi Sport stables, motocross legend Stefan Everts.
SUPERCROSS AND SUPERENDURO CENTRE SCENE AT GENOA WITH SIDI SPORT
More than 20 thousand fans attend!
Maser (TV), 28 November, 2011 – It was a double date for major motor cycling in Genoa. The show got under way over the weekend of November 19th and 20th, at the PalaFiera in the Ligurian city, with the “SUPERBOWL OF SUPERCROSS”. This is the most important event dedicated to supercross in Italy, an expo that boasts a long standing tradition which reached its 31st edition this year. For the occasion the PalaFiera was transformed into an indoor motocross track where Italian and international stars from this specialty put on a series of breathtaking performances between supercross and freestyle, to the delight and enthusiasm of the impressive crowds in the stands. Then just one week later, on Saturday, November 26th, two wheel fans gathered once again for another great motor show as motocross gave way to enduro. In fact, this time the event was focused on Enduro Indoor, with the 9th edition of the “FIM SUPERENDURO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP”. This major race saw the best riders in the world hit the arena to do battle on a highly technical and spectacular track that brought all the obstacles these pilots are used to mastering outdoors to the inside of the PalaFiera in Genoa. These two extraordinary shows brought a total of more than 20 thousand enthusiasts to the PalaFiera in Genoa. And of course, as partner of the events, Sid Sport just couldn’t miss them. Plenty of champions from the Sidi stables took to the field to thrill the crowds, who were then able to visit the Sidi stand set up for the occasion and admire our Sidi Crossfire boots and the entire 2012 off road collection. Once again in 2011 Sidi Crossfire have been confirmed as the number one boots for off road action, winning the World Titles both in Motocross with Tony Cairoli and Enduro with Juha Salminen. Standing out among the collectors’ items on display were a replica pair of the Crossfire model used by Cairoli as well as the golden version which the Sicilian pilot wore to the top of the podium in the race that captured him the 2011 World Championship title.
ARNAUD DEMARE WITH SIDI
The Under23 World Champion with Sidi Sport
Maser (Treviso), 06 December, 2011 - Plenty of new young talents are joining the ranks of the time-tested Sidi Sport champions. In this case it’s the young French rider Arnaud Demare who took home the Under23 World Champion jersey in the in-line road test this year at the World Championships in Copenaghen. It was a big reward for this neo-professional kid, who in 2012 will be mixing it up in the pack wearing the Francaise des Jeux jersey.
Demare was born inBeauvais,France, in 1991, and he recently paid a visit to the Sidi Sport general headquarters in Maser (Treviso). Some behind the scenes: the young French talent also brought along his father, who is a diehard cycling fan and wanted to see the place where they make the shoes used by great champions of all time, the same shoes worn by his son practically since he started racing, from his first pedal pushes among the super juniors at the tender age of eight all the way to the top of the Championship podium in Copenaghen.
“It’s good to see that there is still so much enthusiasm and passion surrounding our shoes,” explains Rosella Signori, who greeted Demare during his visit. “So often we only focus on the results achieved by the major league champions, but to know that there are riders who use our shoes at all ages and at all levels is a great source of pride and satisfaction for us. It is a testimonial of how people who pursue and understand cycling place their belief and faith in the Sidi brand and our products. We weren’t aware that we’ve been accompanying Demare since his very first debut on a bicycle and during his competitive development. Now we’ll be by his side in his new adventure among the pros and we hope that the Under23 World Championship jersey is just the start on his way to a brilliant career.”

MICHELE PIRRO WITH SIDI SPORT
In 2012 the Italian pilot will race in the MotoGP with his new CRT motorbike
Maser (TV), 13 December, 2011 – In 2012 Michele Pirro will be among the riders defending the Sidi Sport colours and flying them high on the track. These past few days the Italian rider paid a visit to Sidi’s general headquarters in Maser (TV). Born in 1986 in the town of San Giovanni Rotondo in Puglia, next season Pirro will be saddling up on a CRT motorcycle in the highest class of Grand Prix motorcycle racing. These motorcycles are an important new entry on the international motorcycling scene. The term CRT stands for "Claiming Rule Team", private team motorcycles which will line up next to the official bikes to round out the files in the starting grid at the start of the MotoGP next year. These are “hybrid” motorcycles along the lines of those racing in Moto2, but of course they carry 1000 cc motors instead of 600 cc. This is a great opportunity for the Italian rider who had a fantastic season in 2011, standing out in the Moto2 and managing to win his first race in the MotoGP with a perfect test in the Gran Premio della Comunidad Valenciana, starting in pole position and dominating the race from the first lap to the last. Pirro is coming to the reigning class in motorcycling after gaining experience and maturity starting with his debut in the 125 class, where he raced from 2003 to 2006. Then in 2007 and 2008 he became Italian speed champion in the Superstock 1000 class before going on to the Supersport category where he rode in the championships in 2009 and 2010 before making the jump to Moto2. For Pirro, who has already delighted the company from Maser with his performances on the track, this is a return to the ranks of the Sidi Sport stables. As he sets off on this new adventure he’ll be wearing Sidi Vortice boots, the top of the line from the Sidi Sport collection for the track. In this boot technology, attractive design and fine craftsmanship combine in a “vortex” of solutions which always aim to guarantee maximum performance without sacrificing the comfort and safety of the rider’s feet.
Attached is the photo of Michele Pirro with Rosella Signori and Sidi Vortice boots in the new black - fluorescent yellow colour scheme.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
...and Happy New Year
Sidi Sport staff would like to wish a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of the cyclists, motorcyclists, dealers and champions that have promoted the Sidi brand all over the World in 2011.
TONY MARTIN
German cyclist of the year
Maser (Treviso), 02 January, 2012 - 2012 is starting off with some wonderful news for Sidi Sport. Tony Martin (Omega Pharma-Quick Step), who is one of the most outstanding athletes from the ranks of Sidi champions, has in fact been elected as the German Cyclist of the Year for 2011. Martin won the honor over the two-wheel daredevil champion from the world of stunts, David Schnabel, and the new sprinting talent Marcel Kittel. For Martin 2011 was truly a season to remember. The German proved to be competitive throughout the entire season, starting with the Tour of Algarve in Portugal and continuing with excellent performances and victories in the Vuelta al Pais Vasco, in the Criterium du Dauphine and at the Tour de Romandie. On top of these he added two important victories, always in the time trial, which is his specialty, at the Tour de France and the Vuelta Espana. However the real "crowning achievement" came when he won the World Championship Title in the time trial in Copenhagen, where Martin beat Britain's Bradley Wiggins and Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara. To finish things off Martin wanted to honor his World Champion's jersey, as only great champions are wont to do, and make his mark in China as well, in the first edition of the Tour of Beijing, winning the time trial and also dominating the general classification. The entire staff here at Sidi Sport congratulate Tony Martin with the hope that 2012 will also be a season rich in satisfaction and success.
CICLO CROSS
Sidi shines even in the mud
Maser (TV), 09 January, 2011 - The cyclo-cross season is bringing enormous satisfaction to the Sidi Sport colours. Mud, passion and hardship; these are the ingredients that make this sport so unique, compelling and appealing. Some of the biggest talents on the international cyclo-cross scene are among the stars in the Sidi ranks, the brightest of which include the Czech Zdenek Stybar and Dutchman Lars Boom. Both men were born in 1985 and they are two authentic giants in cyclo-cross. Stybar, the Czech riding for team Omega Pharma - Quick-Step, is the reigning world champion in this specialty. Boon, the Dutchman riding for team Rabobank has joined the ranks of Sidi champions this year, after being crowned World Champion in junior cyclo-cross in 2003, under23 in 2007 and elite in 2008. During the first week of the year, these high calibre athletes made their mark in their respective national championship races, as they looked forward to coming head to head in the next world cup races in which they’ll figure prominently, and definitely also at the World Championships in this specialty scheduled to take place at the end of the month in Koksijde, Belgium, in the cradle of cyclo-cross, where cycling lives and breathes. In fact, on Sunday, January 8th, both riders celebrated their sixth national title wins; Stybar triumphing in theCzech Republic race and Boom blowing away the competition yet again in front of his orange coloured fans inHolland. Sidi Sport shoes have always supported these champions on the most rugged terrain and in the most extreme weather conditions. Thanks to their winning mix of technology and design, with constant cutting edge solutions, Sidi shoes are not the least bit shy of getting dirty in the cyclo-cross mud; on the contrary, they can’t wait to shine once again on the top step of the podium together with the champions who wear them. With the Ergo 3 Carbon Vernice shoe, the top of the line model in their 2012 collection, Sidi will also be following these two great champions in the long season of road racing that lies ahead.
ENDURO
The return of Cervantes
Maser (TV), 11 January 2o12 - The line up of Sidi Sport champions just enriched its ranks with an important name. We’re talking about Ivan Cervantes. In 2012 the strong Spanish rider will return to wearing Crossfire boots. We say return because Cervantes already wore and defended the Sidi Sport colours when he rode the official KTM bike. In the 2012 season, Cervantes, the Catalonian from Tarragona, (b. 1982), will certainly be one of the stars to watch in the Enduro World Championship series. He came to Enduro after a brilliant career in motocross, where he had won many national titles since starting from the youth categories. The Spaniard affirmed himself as one of the best performers in this specialty, collecting four World Titles: two in the E1 category (2005 and 2006) and two in the E3 category (2007 and 2009). Guts and determination have always defined this champion, who is as determined and combative in the race as he is friendly and accessible to his fans once he’s off his bike. This is why Cervantes has become a darling to throngs of off road motorcycling fans. In the upcoming World series Cervantes will be riding a 450cc 4T, made available to him by team Gas Gas, with which will he give a great performance and thrill the fans by taking on his latest exciting challenge as he aims to capture the only enduro world title he doesn’t yet possess, the one in the E2 category. It will be no easy task because there are lots of champions in this category that are gunning for the 2012 title, but Cervantes can also count on the help and support of Sidi Crossfire boots. Thanks to countless victories obtained and enviable technical features, these boots are considered the number one boot for off road competition, unbeatable even on the most rugged terrain. Meanwhile, Ivan Cervantes has already scored his first victory… in fact, two months ago he became a father. Congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the entire staff here at Sidi Sport!
Attached are photos of Ivan Cervantes with Sidi Crossfire boots in the new colour schemes featured in the 2012 Sidi Sport collection: black/fluorescent yellow and white/black/fluorescent yellow.

Maser (Treviso), 20 January, 2012 - Sidi Sport would like to invite all two wheel enthusiasts to the Motor Bike Expo (http://www.motorbikeexpo.it/). This important event is the largest Italian expo dedicated to special motorbikes, custom bikes and motorcycling accessories. It will be held in Verona from January 20th to the 22nd. The fair is taking particular measures to show the large crowds of fans a good time. In its previous edition the fair hosted more than 741 of the most important brands in the sector, many of which came from abroad, on an exposition surface area of more than73,000 square metres, with spectacular shows and entertainment. This year, too, the expo’s numbers will most likely expand and develop. Customizing is a motorcycling lifestyle defined by a biker’s penchant for transforming their ride into something unique and special, and this is the area where the Motor Bike Expo has emerged as a European leader. But it’s not just about customizing. In fact, in addition to unique and spectacular Harley Davidson models and “choppers” with fat tyres and long handlebars in all styles and colours, there will also be ample space provided to motocross and the off road sector, were in 2011 Sidi once again stood out at the highest levels, winning the World titles in both the motocross and Enduro series. The centrepiece of the Sidi stand will be the KTM 350 “Cairoli replica” bike, made available for the occasion by the Austrian motor company (http://www.ktm.com/it.html). This brand new model has been produced as a limited edition to celebrate Tony Cairoli’s fifth rainbow title and will make its long awaited public debut after being officially unveiled recently by KTM. This motorcycle is a faithful reproduction of the one used in races by the World Champion. Thus the expo is a unique, don’t-miss occasion to get a close-up look at this special model, which still hasn’t arrived in stores. Discover Cairoli’s personalized race settings and all the technical and graphic details that make the World Champ’s motorcycle so unique and exceptional. Next to the motorcycle you can also admire and appreciate some special editions from the Sidi collection, like the golden Crossfire boot which Tony Cairoli (http://www.tonycairoli.com/w2/) wore to the top step of the Championship podium this year; and the “Cairoli replica” version of the Crossfire model that the very same motocross super champ used during races.
BRADLEY SMITH WITH SIDI
With Vortice boots aims to the Moto2 world title
Maser (Treviso), 21 January 2012 - A new rider has come to further enforce the ranks of the Sidi champions who will be lining up at the starting post in the 2012 season. We’re referring to Bradley Smith, the Brit from Oxford born in 1990. Smith has renewed his contract for the next three years with the transalpine Tech 3 Racing team, with which he’ll ride one more season in Moto2 and then move on to Team Monster Yamaha Tech 3 MotoGP in the following two seasons, 2013 and 2014. The career of this young British talent is off to a brilliant start, and he’s fast becoming one of the most interesting names to watch in the upcoming Moto2 championship series, the “cadet” category in which Smith and his team agreed he should stay in 2012 to gain some more experience and more importantly to try and capture the World Title before moving up to the reigning class of two wheel motor sports. This is an important goal. In this new and exciting adventure in pursuit of success, Smith can count on the support of Sidi Sport, which has supplied him with their Sidi Vortice boots, which have proven themselves as the number one boot for the track and speed. Vortice is the top boot in the Sidi collection, a veritable technological and design gem with an attractive look that synthesizes cutting edge technology studied to provide maximum performance without sacrificing comfort and safety for the rider’s feet. Enthusiasm and determination are the foundations of this guy’s personality; he’s as aggressive on the track as he is polite, cordial and approachable when he’s not on his bike. Like many of his colleagues, Smith also loves cycling; in addition to serving as a valuable tool in his physical training, it’s also one of his greatest passions. This is one more source of pride and satisfaction for Sidi, whose core business consists of cycling shoes as well as motor cycling boots. When his competitive schedule permits, Smith doesn’t miss a chance to hop over to the Dolomites to take on his friends in bike rides up the major climbs that have made history in the Giro d’Italia race. Bradley Smith is a rapidly rising talent; in fact, in spite of his tender age, the young rider has already been standing out on the international scene. He debuted in the 125 class in the Moto GP in 2006 and stayed in this category until 2012, capturing three victories: two in 2009 which put him in second place in the final GP standings, and one in 2010. In 2011 he jumped up to the Moto2 category, which used to be the 250cc, proving his talent from the very start by making it to the podium three times, with a second and two third places; important placements that allowed him to close out the championship series in seventh place in the rankings and convinced him that he could go for the title in the next season, where he’ll be lining up at the start with the drive to win, together with his Sidi Vortice boots.
SIDI SPORT RECEIVES A WARM WELCOME FROM THE MOTOR BIKE EXPO
Crossfire and KTM 350 Cairoli replica
Maser (Treviso), 25 January 2012 - Over the week-end Sidi Sport was warmly welcomed by the public at the Motor Bike Expo. Throngs of two wheel fans flocked to the Verona showcase dedicated entirely to custom motorcycles and the off road sector. There were an estimated total of 130 thousand visitors. Some important numbers from the Motor Bike Expo: 4 pavilions covering73,000 square metres of covered exhibition space and35,000 square metres of outdoor space for shows and demonstrations, with the participation of more than 800 brands from more than five continents on display. At the Sidi stand it was possible to get a close, hands-on look at all the boots from the 2012 collection, including new items for track, touring and off-road sectors. On this occasion, however, the true centrepiece of the Sidi stand was the KTM 350 “Cairoli replica” motorcycle provided by the Austrian motor company. This all new model, is being produced as a limited edition to celebrate Tony Cairoli’s fifth World Championship title. The bike made its public debut right here at theVerona expo, just a short while after was officially unveiled by KTM. It’s a unique motorcycle that’s a faithful replica of the one ridden in competition by the Champion of the World. It was the perfect occasion for fans to discover all the details of the bike used by the World class motocross ace; they even got the chance to hop on the back of this true off-road gem to get their picture taken with the beautiful “Sidi Girls”; a much appreciated, fun souvenir of a nice day spent at the Motor Bike Expo. Of course, the KTM 350 “Cairoli Replica” wouldn’t have been complete without the golden Crossfire boots that carried Tony Cairoli to the top step of the World Championship podium this year, as well as the “Cairoli replica” version of the Crossfire boot used in races by the motocross super champ. Attached are photos of the KTM 350 “Cairoli replica” and the beautiful “Sidi Girls”.
THE GRIT AND TALENT OF DOVIZIOSO WITH SIDI SPORT
Vortice boots for the Italian rider
Maser (TV), 31 January 2012 - Andrea Dovizioso has officially joined the stables of Sidi Sport champions. The Italian rider recently visited the Sidi headquarters in Maser (Treviso) before taking off for the Malaysian circuit in Sepang, where he’ll face his first tests on his new official Yamaha supplied by Team Tech3.
It was an occasion to meet Dino and Rosella Signori, as well as other members of the Sidi staff who’ll be following him closely on this new adventure, so Dovizioso could familiarize himself with the new Sidi Vortice boots he’ll be wearing for the 2012 World Championship series.
His career. Dovizioso was born in 1986, in Forlì Romagna, and he’s been proving his talent since his debut in world motor cycling in the 125 class in 2001. Race after race he’s managed to climb his way up quickly in the rankings, gaining plenty of experience and maturity season after season. Then in 2004 things really started to come together when he captured the 125cc World championship Title, plus five more victories, five second places, a third place and eight pole positions. The World Title was an important calling card that gained him entry into the 250 class now moto2) in 2005, which immediately confirmed him at the highest levels when he closed out the Worlds in third place in the general standings. Then in 2006 he clinched two more victories, with another two successes in2007. In 2008 these brilliant results propelled him to his big leap to the
MotoGP, the reigning class in world motor cycling. Right from his debut, during his first race in Qatar, he came in fourth place immediately on the heels of Valentino Rossi. It was a great premiere performance for a rookie who soon turned out to be a surprise on the World circuit, even making it to third place on the podium for the race in Sepang. In 2009 he clinched his first victory in MotoGP in the Great Britain GP. This important success was the tenth in his career, which made him one of the few active riders on the World circuit to obtain victories in every category he raced in. In 2010 he was firmly established in the top group and in 2011, although he didn’t score any wins, he finished the World series in third place with seven podiums (second place four times and third place three times).
A New Adventure. For Dovizioso 2012 will be an important year. After a long career riding for Honda, he’s starting off on a new adventure with Yamaha, in pursuit of new motivation and excitement so he can return to the top step on the podium. In his quest for this prize he can count on Vortice boots, the top of the line in Sidi Sport’s track collection.
“Thanks to Sidi for the faith they’ve placed in me,” says Andrea Dovizioso. “I hope to repay this faith soon with some results on the track. 2012 will be an important season: a new motorcycle and new boots, too. I know about the quality and technical value of Sidi boots, and now I’m happy to get the chance to wear them in competition. My first impression is really good, because right away Vortice comes off as a high performance boot that nonetheless doesn’t sacrifice solutions studied to insure safety to the rider’s feet. The first tests of the season in Sepang will be important to fine tune the bike, but also to put some touches on my new Vortice boots. Boots are fundamental to a rider because they are a unifying fulcrum between man and motorcycle.”
Dovizioso’s team mate on Team Tech 3 Yamaha will be Englishman Cal Crutchlow, who is another champion from the Sidi ranks. Just one more source of pride and satisfaction for Sidi, who can now count on a formidable pair of warriors in Vortice boots as they battle for the Moto GP prize.
Welcome to our big Sidi family! “As part of our vocation Sidi has always been close with our athletes,” explains Rosella Signori. “After a fabulous period spent next to a motorcycle great like Loris Capirossi, now Sidi is proud to announce our partnership with another star on two wheels, Andrea Dovizioso, one of the most outstanding riders of his generation. For Sidi, Andrea is an important testimonial not only for an Italian market, but also on an international stage. Technical skills, guts and a charming smile make Andrea one of the best known and admired faces in the world of motorcycling. With 51 years in the service of great champions, Sidi has decided to apply our know-how and passion to Andrea’s professionalism, with the aim of creating a winning duo that will be easily recognizable to fans. And as a bonus, Andrea will contribute to the process of product development that has always made up Sidi’s DNA.”

POZZATO AND SIDI SPORT
Ergo 3 carbon fluorescent for Pippo Pozzato
Maser (Treviso), 02 February 2012 - As always, Filippo Pozzato’s visit today to the Sidi Sport Headquarters in Maser (TV) was greatly appreciated. In his brilliant career Pozzato has always competed with shoes supplied to him by Dino Signori; in this season, too, he’ll be able to count on Sidi’s help and support in the field. His personality and talent have confirmed Pozzato as one of the most outstanding athletes from the ranks of Sidi’s great champions.
Pippo is about to embark on a very important season; in fact, 2012 could turn out to be a decisive period, after several difficult years of bad luck. The new season will be important for him to prove to everyone, especially himself, that he is determined and hungry for victory. 2012 will be a fresh, new start: new team, new team mates, new motivation, all joined together by the common denominator that’s always been there: the will to win. Pippo is looking forward to races that have traditionally belonged to him: the major one-day races like Sanremo, which he won in 2006, all the way up to the finish lines at the Olympics and in the World series, where the Italian Blue jersey awaits, passing through the great Northern Classics, his favourite terrain, where he already stands out as a major player.
Backing Pippo up in this new, exciting adventure will be Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes, the top-of-the-line in the new Sidi collection for the road. These Ergo 3 Carbons were produced specifically for Pippo Pozzato by Dino Signori. They feature a special fluorescent graphics covering in homage to the colours of the jerseys on his new team, Farnese Vini-Selle Italia. Now Pippo, who has always had a flair for detail, both in and out of the race, can join the group sporting a perfectly elegant, attractive look, which he’s always been a stickler for.
It’s always nice to come visit Dino Signori and all the Sidi staff,” says Pozzato. “What I have with them is a very special relationship, that goes beyond the race and the bicycle. They’ve always welcomed me as a member of their family and they’ve always been there for me, whether in the joy of victory or through more difficult times. For me 2012 is an important season, a new challenge, and I’m hoping I can soon repay Sidi’s esteem and faith with some important results.”

GP COSTA ETRUSCHI
Double win for Sidi Sport
Maser (Treviso), 06 February, 2012 - Sidi Sport scored a double at the Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi, the Tuscan classic that marks the start of the season, which took place on Saturday, February 4th in Donoratico (Livorno). Sidi has always been an historical partner of this race, and not only did the race have the best possible outcome, but Elia Viviani’s victory also brought us great satisfaction. In fact, the young talent from team Liquigas Cannondale put the entire pack in line in the final sprint, crossing the finish line in Donoratico with arms raised, thus doubling down on his 2011 success. Once again this year, Sidi shoes and their Ergo 3 Carbon model were along for the ride with Elia Viviani and the other champions from the Liquigas Cannondale team. This fantastic victory confirms Viviani as a major player in the group; a fast, alert and dynamic rider who is competitive both on the road and on tracks. Rounding out the day’s success for the Sidi colours, besides Viviani’s victory, another young rider came in third place: Filippo Baggio from team Utensilnord Named. The lovely Sidi Girls and their heart-warming smiles were on hand on the podium in Donoratico to award them both with their prizes. And the partnership between Sidi Sport and the Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi has proved to be a winning combination. Furthermore, this year the race and the riders turned out to be stronger than the cold and snow; in fact, while all ofItaly was gridlocked by terrible weather on the Etruscan coast, the passion and commitment that have always defined cycling allowed for race to go on nonetheless. Sidi wishes to congratulate the organisers of this Tuscan classic, who were able to overcome some difficult obstacles and successfully stage a major cycling event that has inaugurated the Italian professional road cycling season.

SIDI AND ELIA VIVIANI TOGETHER FOR A GREAT 2012
Road to London 2012
Maser (Treviso), 15 February, 2012 - This week Elia Viviani made a much appreciated visit to the Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser (Treviso). Dino Signori was present to greet the young talent from Team Liquigas-Cannondale with a handshake as Elia was warmly welcomed by the entire Sidi staff, who are always happy to meet with their champions.
If 2011 was the breakout year for the young rider from Verona, 2012 is turning out to be a season of confirmation for his talent. Viviani’s season got off to an absolutely brilliant start, with 5 victories which at the moment make him the most victorious rider in the pack overall. Between January and February, after starting things off with his victory at the Tour de San Luis, one after the other he captured victories at the Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi and two stage wins plus the lead in the general classification at the Giro della Provincia di Reggio Calabria. Viviani was not only a star in the sprints but he’s become a genuine representative of Italian track cycling. Immediately after his visit to Sidi, which was an occasion to put the finishing touches on his Ergo 3 Carbons, Viviani caught up with the Italian national team to take off forLondon, where next weekend he’ll be busy in the last trial for the World Cup. It will be a sort of general test for Viviani and the Italian team as they prepare for the 2012London Olympic games.
How does it feel to be the most victorious rider of the year? “I’m very happy, but we’re only at the start of the season and there are still plenty of races left to go. I was hoping to start off well, but five wins were really a good start, better than anything we could have foreseen. I have to say that riding in Argentina helped me get into top form. The level of the race was extremely high; pedalling in South America gave me a good pedalling stroke that allowed me to express my full potential in these first sprints of the season.”
Road but also track in Viviani’s season…“Yes, the track project is one that means a lot to me. The qualification for Olympics in the omnium is very close, we need only a few points and the last test in the World Cup in London will be important in obtaining this important goal. The work done on the road has given me an excellent base but perhaps at the moment on the track I’m lacking a few pedal strokes that I had in November when I participated in the World Cup in Astana. We’ll see… the tests we did recently on the track at Montichiari gave me some good signs. Anyway, this is not the last call for the Olympics because in reality there are also the World Championships where there are some important points in play for London. Of course, it would be better to go to Australia for the World Championships with the qualifier already tied down so we can concentrate 100% exclusively on the battle for the medals.”
Viviani, who from the road to the track can always count on his Ergo 3 Carbon shoes and on all the support from Sidi Sport. “Definitely, I thank Sidi for the faith they’ve placed in me and I hope to continue repaying that faith by winning. With Ergo 3 Carbon I feel really great; for a rider his footwear is a fundamental asset, if you only consider the number of hours that I wear my shoes in a year between races and training with all weather conditions: cold, heat, rain… Shoes represent the point where an athlete joins with his bike and expresses his strength on the pedals through his feet. In addition to guaranteeing the best technical features available, my Ergo 3 Carbon are also attractive and appealing in terms of design. Once again this year Sidi gave our team a special Ergo 3 Carbon colour scheme and this is something that my team mates and I really appreciate. I also know that a limited edition of the Ergo 3 Carbon used by all of us on Liquigas-Cannondale will soon be released by Sidi for the general public; I think it’s really a nice initiative for our fans and for all two-wheeling enthusiasts.”

A GREAT START TO THE SEASON FOR SIDI AND LIQUIGAS
8 victories to start the season
Maser, Feb. 20, 2012 - Sidi Sport and Liquigas celebrate their eighth year of cooperation in 2012. It’s been eight seasons of great successes and big emotions. The winning partnership between Sidi and Liquigas couldn’t have had a better start to the season this year, as the amazing eight victories brought in by the strong athletes of team Liquigas-Cannondale in the first few races of the season show. Elia Viviani took honors five times, in Argentina at Tour de San Luis and then in Italy at Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi and Giro della Provincia di Reggio Calabria. He was joined in the past few days by Peter Sagan and Vincenzo Nibali, two fundamental assets of the team, who won under the blistering sun of Tour of Oman, and by neophyte professional Moreno Moser, who won at Trofeo Laigueglia. Big champions alongside new emerging talents, with tradition meeting innovation: the spirit that has always characterized Sidi can be found amongst the team Liquigas champions as well. Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes have run alongside the cyclists of team Liquigas-Cannondale during their enterprises on routes around the world. Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon are the top-of-the-range product in road cycling shoes Sidi produces, and will soon be available for all fans in the best sports equipment shops as a special Liquigas Limited Edition, faithfully reproducing the model used by the team. Hoping these wins are only the first of a long series, Sidi thanks the Liquigas-Cannondale champions and wishes them good luck for a brilliant rest of the season.

SIDI VORTICE FOR BRADLEY SMITH
British rider visits Sidi for the first time
Maser, Feb. 23, 2012 - Sidi Vortice boots will tag along Bradley Smith in the 2012 Moto2 World Championship. Meantime, this week the young English rider of team Tech 3 Racing visited the Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser, northernItaly. The first visit for Smith at the Sidi headquarters was the ideal occasion to modify and optimize his new Vortice boots, and also to shake hands with Dino Signori and to meet the entire Sidi team that will work with him this season. Finding the perfect technical combination for boots is a detail every pilot values a lot. The Sidi technicians know this well, and that’s why they guarantee maximum care for each detail, in order to put the pilots in the ideal conditions that allow them to obtain the most from their racing performance.
Smith was born inOxfordin 1990. Besides his obvious talent, he is known for being very precise and scrupulous when working, and also for being a very social, funny guy in every situation. He visited the Sidi factory showing great interest and curiosity to find out how his racing boots are made. The boots are made based on the athlete’s foot measure and shape. It will be up to him to bring them on the highest place of the podium. Smith of course visited the hall of fame where all the Sidi boots of the greatest riders that won while wearing them are on display.
“It was quite the feeling, to see the boots with which some of the greats in motorcycling have competed, people who have made the history of this sport. I thank Sidi for trusting me and I hope I will pay them back on the tracks. I’m very pleased with this visit at the Sidi headquarters because it was a good chance to work on some important details of the Vortice boots, that I will wear while racing this season. They were a perfect fit for me from the start. I will have a chance to test them further on track in Spain during the next few tests in March, before the championship debut on April 5 in Qatar.”
The 2012 season will be important for Smith and the English pilot isn’t hiding his ambition to go on winning Moto2 championship before thinking about moving to MotoGP, the Queen racing category in motorcycling.
ANOTHER GREAT VICTORY FOR SIDI SPORT & LIQUIGAS
Eros Capecchi takes the GP Lugano
Maser (TV), 27 February, 2012 - The Liquigas-Cannondale quiver has shot another arrow for a bulls eye. After Elia Viviani, Peter Sagan and Vincenzo Nibali, this time the joy of victory went to Eros Capecchi. On Sunday, February 26 the Italian rider prevailed at the finish line for the GP Lugano, a true competition on a challenging route which has always been considered one of the most important tests on the first part of the European calendar. When Liquigas riders win, Sidi Sport shines with them; in fact, on the top step of the podium Capecchi was wearing his Genius 6.6 Carbon Lite shoes, which have thus been confirmed, with the model Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon, as the most triumphant footwear for this season.
Liquigas-Cannondale and Sidi Sport are extremely satisfied with this successful turn in the Swiss classic with Eros Capecchi, who follows in the golden footsteps of Ivan Basso, first in Lugano in 2011. With the GP Lugano, Liquigas and Sidi have brought their total of season victories to 9.
It's been a magical season start for Liquigas-Cannondale, whose extraordinary riders make them one of the major forces in the pack, a tight knit winning group that can do battle and put on a great show on roads the world over, from South America to the Arabian peninsula and on to the old continent. When the road calls, Sidi and its champions are there!

OMLOOP HET NIEUWSBLAD
Sep Vanmarcke wins
Maser (Treviso), 28 February, 2012 - During the course of last weekend, the peloton made its Northern seasonal debut in Belgium, home to the classic races. Sep Vanmarcke (Garmin-Barracuda) was the rider who made his mark in the year’s first classic, the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, where he dominated at the finish line in Ghent ahead of two giants like Tom Boonen (Omega Pharma-Quickstep) and Juan Antonio Flecha (Sky).
For Vanmarcke, a Belgian from Kortrijkborn in 1988, this victory is without a doubt the most wonderful and significant affirmation in his career. The victory came as a surprise but was much deserved by Vanmarcke, who showed strength and intelligence and especially that he wasn’t afraid of going up against the greats. Vanmarcke was accompanied in this extraordinary victory by his Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes, the shoes of champions from the top of the line in the Sidi Sport road collection. It was a tremendous satisfaction for the young Belgian rider and also for Sidi Sport; together they “tasted” their first win in the Northern classics for the 2012 season. In fact, this race is traditionally considered a little Tour of Flanders, an important testing field for all riders in anticipation of the Ronde Van Vlaanderen race.
Sidi’s success at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad was completed by a third place for Spaniard Juan Antonio Flecha and fourth place for Australian Heinrich Haussler. The Northern campaign could not have gotten off to a better start for the Sidi colours. Here’s hoping that the next great classics will once again bring plenty of victories and satisfaction to Sidi and our champions.

SIDI SHINES ON ROADS THROUGHOUT EUROPE
Important successes in Belgium, France and Spain
Maser (Treviso), 05 March, 2012 – This past weekend brought tremendous satisfaction to the Sidi Sport colours, which shined on roads all overEurope.
Let’s start in the North, where in the build up to the major classics at the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen, the brief stage race in Western Flanders, Sidi scored a magical triple with the pair of riders from Omega Pharma-Quick Step, Michal Kwiatkowski and Francesco Chicchi and with Arnaud Demare from Francaise des Jeux. On the opening day, Friday, March 2nd, it wasPoland’s Kwiatkowski who got things started, putting all others in line in the 7-km time trial. Then on Saturday, in the first in-line stage, his team mate Francesco Chicchi made it a double by beating everyone in the sprint. For Chicchi, who is off to a fantastic start in this 2012, this is his third season’s bull’s eye after two great victories in the Tour de San Luis inArgentina. On Sunday, in the second and last stage, it wasFrance’s Arnaud Demare who laid down the law in the final sprint. After stage victories at the Tour of Qatar and Le Samyn, this is also the third season win for the Frenchman, who graduated last year as the under23 World Champion inCopenhagen.
These three fantastic victories are an enormous source of pride for the Sidi Sport colours, especially because they were scored by young riders like Demare, born in 1991 and Kwiatkowski born in 1990. These riders have a great future ahead of them and with commitment and determination they are striving to put all their talent on display.
From Flanders we head to France for the time trial that opened the 70th edition of the Paris-Nice, where, in a challenge among time trial giants, Sweden’s Gustav Erik Larsson (Vacansoleil), got the best of Britain’s Bradley Wiggins and American Levi Leipheimer, thus giving Sidi success and the first yellow jersey in the important French stage race.
For Sidi the fun doesn’t stop here; in fact, rounding out a weekend of victories, Colombian Nairo Quintana (Movistar) clinched success in the Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia, winning on the uphill finish line at Sierra de Espuña and also capturing the general classification in the brief Spanish stage race.
These are all important victories, won by riders with different jerseys, languages, nationalities, personalities and athletic skills but with one thing in common: their victories for Sidi Sport. In fact, they can always count on their Ergo 3 Carbon, the shoes of champions from the top of the line in the Sidi road collection which have already racked up several important successes in this first part of the season.
Attached are photos of Gustav Larsson in the yellow jersey at the Paris-Nice and of Nairo Quintana, first at Sierra de Espuña.
THE TWO FACES OF VICTORY
Sidi a major player at the Tirreno-Adriatico
Maser (Treviso), 12 March, 2012 - Liquigas-Cannondale is riding an unstoppable wave of success that is defining the first part of their 2012 season. As always, Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes, the most victorious shoes in the start of this season from the top of the line in the Sidi Sport collection, are along for the ride with the Liquigas athletes during their extraordinary performances on roads all over the world and, of course, when they make it to the top step of the podium.
As always happens in all great competitions, in the Tirreno-Adriatico the climbs lit up the race. On Saturday, March 10th, the starter was served with the first uphill arrival, on the kicker at Chieti, where Slovakian champion Peter Sagan signed his name. Then on Sunday the main course arrived with the “Shark from the Straight” Vincenzo Nibali crossing the finish line first and all alone on the challenging climbing arrival at Prati di Tivo.
With these two wins the booty plundered by Sidi & Liquigas this season so far comes to 11. We really have had a great start to this season and if we continue at the rate we’re going it is definitely going to be a thrilling ride.
The partnership between Sidi and team Liquigas-Cannondale has also been sealed with the Ergo 3 Carbon Liquigas limited edition model dedicated to fans and enthusiasts, which will soon be available in the best cycling shops. It is a unique shoe to wear but it is also an authentic gem to be carefully and jealously kept and cared for.
Attached are photos of the victories by Peter Sagan and Vincenzo Nibali, with their Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon.
TIRRENO-ADRIATICO: THREE ACES FOR SIDI
Rodriguez, Nibali and Di Luca
Maser (TV), 13 March, 2012 - The 2012 Tirreno-Adriatico continues bringing great satisfaction to the Sidi colours. After last weekend’s successes, on Monday, on the difficult circuit of Offida another beautiful victory was signed by Sidi Sport. On the finish line at Offida, Sidi played a spectacular trey of aces, placing three of our most outstanding athletes in the first three arrival positions: victory went to Purito Rodriguez (Katusha), second place for the Shark Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Cannondale) and third place for a newfound Danilo Di Luca (Acqua & Sapone). Sidi is pleased as pie that two of the top models from our collection made it to the podium: the Sidi Genius 6.6 Carbon on Rodriguez and Di Luca and the Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon worn by Vincenzo Nibali.
Tirreno-Adriatico 2012
Tirreno-Adriatico 2012

TONY MARTIN & SIDI SPORT
the visit of the time trial World Champion
Maser (Treviso), 20 March, 2012 - At Sidi we are always happy when our champions drop in for a visit. It's even better when the visitor is a World Champion, as in the case of Tony Martin, who came to the Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser (Treviso) after his stint in the Paris-Nice.
This visit by the time trial world champion was immensely satisfying for Dino and Rosella Signori and the entire Sidi staff, who warmly welcomed one of their most outstanding athletes.
“Tony has been using our shoes since 2010 and with us he has obtained some prestigious victories. Just in 2011 we think of the lovely victories he conquered in addition to the World Championship title in the time trials in Copenhagen; there are the stages in the Tour de France and the Vuelta Espana, the final classification in the Paris-Nice, not to mention victory in the first edition of the Tour of Beijing, in China, which was a source of great pride for Sidi and an important showcase for us," explains Rosella Signori. “Besides being a serious professional, Tony has turned out to be a really nice guy, always friendly and available. Our relationship got off to a great start right away and this has pleased us immensely."
This year Tony Martin is wearing the jersey for team Omega Pharma - Quick Step. 2012 is going to be a very important year for him because in addition to having to defend his World Championship Title, the time trial at the London Olympics also awaits.
“This is the first time I've ever come here to Sidi; it really meant a lot to me to make this visit," says Tony Martin. “With the Sidi Sport staff we've created an excellent relationship based on reciprocal collaboration. I try to repay the faith Sidi has placed in me with my victories; for their part Dino Signori and his entire staff are always very attentive to my needs and they've always set me up in the ideal conditions to give it my all in my performance. In the time trial it is often the details that make the difference, close attention must be paid to every little thing…the bicycle, seat position, aerodynamics and even the shoes, which are the medium between the bike and the athlete by which he can express his full power on the road."
In addition to the usual photographs and greetings, Tony Martin enjoyed the occasion for a short, guided tour with Dino Signori to see the entire Sidi Sport operation, including the production line, where the World Champion lingered for a while, amused and curious as to how Sidi shoes are made, including his own Ergo 3 Carbon, personalised with the multi-coloured details that distinguish the World Champion.
“I'm always very curious, that's just my personality, it's the way I am," explains the World Champion. "It especially meant a lot to me to see how the shoes I use are created and how they are produced, step by step. It was also a thrill to discover and get to know the history of Sidi, from the company's origins, tracing the victories of many champions past, through Dino Signori's accounts."

THE NUMBER 1 IS TONY CAIROLI
Internazionali d'Italia 2012
Maser (TV), 27 March, 2012 – There was a grand finale at the 2012 Italian International motocross series. The last stage was held on Sunday, March 25th, on the spectacular track of Gazzane di Preseglie (Brescia) and once again the great Tony Cairoli was crowned the winner.
The reigning MX1 World Champion did not initially start out as a favourite, because Frenchman Steven Frossard had dominated all the tests up until now, looking back on his adversaries for the classification with a reassuring advantage. However, a champion like Cairoli was just not going to settle for a simple placement so, breaking out all the determination and class that have always been his calling card, he stormed the highest step on the podium.
With a gripping race entirely on the attack that got the considerable crowd present roaring, the Sicilian ace dominated the trial from the start and successively, lap after lap, he started accumulating an advantage over his adversaries and ended up cutting over the finish line meritoriously alone.
It was a double satisfaction for Sidi to carry our most outstanding rider, with his Crossfire boots, to the top of the podium in the Italian International series, where Sidi Sport is also one of the main sponsors.
This important victory brings Cairoli to the top of the Italian Internationals, where the Sicilian had been missing since 2009. It’s a prestigious result and especially encouraging as we look forward to the date with the first test in the World Championship where Cairoli, and with him Sidi, are aiming to reconfirm his World Championship title. The first test in the rainbow series is set for April 9th in Valkenburg,Holland.

SIDI SPORT: A RONDE VAN VLAANDEREN AS MAJOR PLAYERS
Filippo Pozzato a step away from victory
Maser (TV), 02 April, 2012 – Victory remained elusive; however the champions from the Sidi Sport stables rode out the Ronde Van Vlaanderen as star players. Winning is always the best sensation ever, but Filippo Pozzato’s second place - behind hometown favourite Tom Boonen – holds a special relish and almost smells like victory. On Sunday, April 1st, at the Ronde Pozzato orchestrated an extraordinary race and he finally returned to his place as a major player on the stage of the great northern classics, with their walls and cobblestones which the Italian rider has always loved so but which in the past had always spurned him.
The symbol of Flandersis a lion, and this time Pippo really knew how to fight and come through like a lion. Struggling along with him - or should we say, shining on his feet beyond the dust and mud, which were as much a challenge as the spectacular Flanders walls – as always, were our Ergo 3 Carbon shoes, made especially for him by Sidi, with special graphics in “fluorescent yellow”.
“I’m sorry I didn’t win, for me the Ronde has always held a special fascination, but Tom deserved the victory,” says Pozzato. “In the final I tried to attack and then I played my cards in the sprint but there was nothing I could do. Anyway, I’m happy with my form, this result gives me confidence and now I’m already looking forward to the Roubaix, where I will try to win again, even though it certainly won’t be easy.”
In addition to Pippo Pozzato’s place of honour on the podium, Sidi sport had more satisfaction in the 2012 Ronde Van Vlaanderen with a fifth place by the Slovakian champion from Team Liquigas Cannondale Peter Sagan, who is continuing to confirm all his great talent.
And the excitement continues. For Pippo Pozzato and all the other Northern Classic hunters, this is “Cycling’s Holy Week”. In fact, as Pozzato mentioned before, after the walls of the Ronde, next week, on Easter Sunday, April 8th, the peloton will take on the awaiting cobblestones of theRoubaix, a hell which however will open the gates to heaven for the winners.

GREAT PARTY AT IMOLA FOR FABIEN FORET AND SIDI SPORT
The French pilot scores race victory and world leadership in Supersport
Maser (TV), 04 April, 2012 - Sidi Sport is already a major star in world Supersport. Fabien Foret clinched success in the 600 Supersport race which took place on Sunday on the Imola racecourse. As always, with him on the track were his Sidi Vortice boots, thus confirming their place at the top of the line in the Sidi Sport collection for track and speed. At the end of a thrilling race full of daring moves, Foret put all his adversaries in line, flying under the chequered flag ahead of Englishman Sam Lowes and South African Ronan Quarmby. This was a double play orchestrated by Foret; in fact, the French rider from Kawasaki Intermoto Step also jumped to the top of the world series general classification.
There was a huge party for Foret and Sidi. For the Frenchman Imola signalled an historical success, a downright record, his fourteenth win in the series of his outstanding career, which brings him to second place in the special rankings of the most victorious riders of all time. Foret certainly doesn’t intend to stop here; records are made to be broken, the world series still has a long way to go and the playing field is wide open.

GOLD MEDAL AND WORLD RECORD FOR SIDI AT MELBOURNE
Kristina Vogel wins the Team Sprint
Maser (TV), 05 April, 2012 - Sidi Sport is shining in gold at the World Championships track races taking place this week in Melbourne, Australia. On Wednesday, April 4th, on the inaugural day, Sidi shoes made it straight to the top of the podium with Germany’s Kristina Vogel who, paired with Miriam Welte won the World Title in the Team Sprint race, a fast, spectacular competition that was disputed over a distance of three laps on the circuit. The German couple played a starring role with an outstanding performance; in fact, in addition to the gold they captured by beating the Australian hometown favourites, Vogel and her team mate pulverized the world record twice in a row: first in the qualifying race and then in the final. Now the new record established by these German ladies is 32”.549 with an average speed of 55.301 km/h.

MOTOCRSS MX1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
First race and first win for Tony Cairoli and Sidi Sport
Maser (Treviso), 10 April, 2012 – The World MX1 Motocross series has started again, much the same as it finished. In the first race of the season the first victory went immediately to the phenomenal Tony Cairoli and the Sidi Sport colours.
In the first championship race of the season held on the Valkenswaard circuit in Holland, the reigning World Champion riding his KTM wasted no time in putting all his adversaries in line. Cairoli raced and won his way, clinching a fantastic double and taking to the top of the podium wearing his Sidi Crossfires, the boots of the motocross World Champion. In the two MX1 races, the podium was a carbon copy, with the three top places assigned to the same riders: first to Tony Cairoli, second to Belgian Clement Desalle and third to Frenchman Steven Frossard. This is an important double victory that has definitively launched Cairoli to the head of the World rankings with 50 points. The season is just getting started and it’s going to be a long series for the adversaries who’ve been served; to stay in front and try to beat the super champion from the Sidi stables they are going to have to give it all they’ve got.

CHIARA FONTANESI & LIVIA LANCELOT
“THE TERRIFIC GIRLS” FROM SIDI BRANDED MOTOCROSS
Maser (Treviso), 13 April, 2012 – Passion for motors and speed, talent and guts to spare; these are the elements that define Chiara Fontanesi and Livia Lancelot. And the two stars from women’s motocross have one more thing in common: in the dust and mud on the World circuit, both gals can always count on their Sidi Crossfire boots, the number one footwear for motocross and off road.
Fearless, beautiful and fast. Chiara, the eighteen-year-old Italian fromParma, got on her first cross motorcycle at the tender age of 2 and a half, and she hasn’t stopped since. She landed in the highest cross category after coming up through the ranks betweenItalyand the States. In 2011 she closed out the World Series in second place, and this year she is going to try and win it.
Livia, born 1988 fromSaint-Denis,France, started revving on a motorcycle when she was just 4 years old, and she was soon competing against the guys who race on the world motocross circuit today. Livia already won a World Series in 2008 and now she wants to get back on top of the category.
The first race of the 2012 World Series took place last Easter weekend on the sandy track at Valkenswaard inHolland. It was clear to everyone right away that these two will be going head to head in the struggle to capture the World Title. It’s going to be a great fight between the two motocross queens who wear the Sidi Sport colours so proudly. However, Chiara and Livia, the two Sidi superstars, will have to keep an eye on the reigning World Champion Laier, who will be defending her title at all costs.
Meanwhile, though, in the inaugural race of the World Series, Chiara Fontanesi, on the back of her Yamaha, raced in the style of the fantastic Tony Cairoli, clinching two victories in solitary with two truly perfect heats. It was an all-Sidi double; in fact, Frenchwoman Livia Lancelot, ridingKawasaki, made it on to the second step of the Dutch podium. The threatening Laier made it to third place. It looks like the battle for the world title is going to come down to these three “terrific girls”. Meanwhile, this was an important victory that launches Chiara to the head of the World classification with an advantage of eight lengths above her adversaries, Lancelot and Laier. With two female champions like these a good time is guaranteed; the 2012 World Motocross series will definitely bring great satisfaction to the Sidi Sport colours.

AMSTEL GOLD RACE: POKER FOR SIDI SPORT AT THE CAUBERG
GASPAROTTO 1st, VANENDERT 2nd, SAGAN 3rd and FREIRE 4th
Maser (Treviso), 16 April, 2012 - It was nothing less than a Sidi show that played out on Sunday on the roads of the Amstel Gold Race. At the finish line of the Dutch classic, which was placed at the top of the legendary Cauberg climb, Sidi Sport scored a hand of poker by placing four of its athletes in the first four positions.
Victory went to the fantastic Enrico Gasparotto (Astana) who lead over the order of Belgian Jelle Vanendert (Lotto Belisol), Slovakian Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Cannondale) and Spaniard Oscar Freire (Katusha). It was none other than three-time World Champion Oscarito Freire who first broke ranks, bursting out on the Cauberg, but then in the last hundred metres the Spaniard had to yield to an inexorable comeback by the trio.
There were four riders but only one winner; in fact, these four Sidi Sport musketeers were all wearing Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes.
For Enrico Gasparotto, born 1982 fromFriuliand riding for the Kazak Astana formation, this is the most important victory of his career. It's a prestigious win that returnsItalyto success in a Northern Classic after a four year dry spell.
"I can't believe it, I'm speechless; for me this is a great victory," these were the first words from Gasparotto, whose career also includes winning the Italian Championship in 2005 and wearing the pink jersey in 2007.
It's also a significant victory in terms of the World Championship because this year the rainbow title race will take place on these very same roads, retracing part of the same route for the Amstel Gold Race.
Attached are photos with the arrival of the four Sidi champions and the details on the Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes they used.
MOTOCROSS WMX: LANCELOT VS FONTANESI
The battle for World dominance continues between the two Sidi champions
Maser (Treviso), 16 April, 2012 - The head to head between Chiara Fontanesi and Livia Lancelot in the WMX World series continues. The second round in the women's World Championship, which took place on the French Castelnau de Lévis circuit, opened a new act in this thrilling duel, which will most likely last throughout the entire season.
Chiara Fontanesi won the first rainbow race of the season in Holland. This time instead, in the French GP Livia Lancelot was on her home turf and she was calling the shots in both trials, in race1 as well as race2, coming in right in front of her rival, Fontanesi. Not even the wind and rain could stop these intrepid gals from Sidi Sport - branded motocross. In fact, as always, they could both count on the help of their Sidi Crossfires, the number one boots in motocross that remain unbeatable on any terrain and in any weather condition, even the most difficult.
The world challenge is starting to heat up; Fontanesi is still ahead in the standings with 94 points, but right behind her, at a distance of just two lengths, the spectre of Livia Lancelot looms large. The next date in this compelling, Sidi-stamped, pink challenge is set for May 20 with the Italian GP in Arco di Trento.
FANS' WARM WELCOME FOR TONY CAIROLI
The motocross superchamp visits Sidi Sport
17 April, 2012 - Tony Cairoli 's visit to the Marca Trevigana over the weekend enjoyed a great success. Of course, fans of motocross and great motorcycling didn't miss the chance to meet the five-time world champion up close.
In the afternoon of Saturday, April 14, Cairoli was a guest of honour at the Valeri Sport store, the shop in Cornuda (Treviso) specializing in motorcycling clothing and accessories, and for two hours he was literally overwhelmed by fans, enthusiasts and even curious onlookers. The lucky ones managed to break through the throngs of people for the unique chance to get an autograph and pose for a picture with the world class motocross superstar, taking away a precious memento to remember this fantastic day.
Always on Saturday, Tony Cairoli didn't miss his chance to visit the Sidi Sport general headquarters in Maser (Treviso). In fact, the company from Treviso is a leader in the production of motorcycling boots and cycling shoes, including the Sidi Crossfire, the "World Champion" boots which have riden along with Cairoli to become the number one in motocross and off road. There was also enormous satisfaction in the Sidi house where Cairoli, who continues to confirm himself as the most outstanding pilot among the great champions from the Sidi Sport stables, was greeted as always with open arms by Dino and Rosella Signori, as well as the entire Sidi staff.
“We have a wonderful relationship with Cairoli, built year after year, which goes beyond a simple working relationship” says Rosella Signori. “In addition to being a great champion he's a golden boy: friendly, polite, available and at the same time a true professional. With his extraordinary victories Tony has given Sidi Sport colours some fantastic satisfactions and we hope that this year, too, he can do the same.”
Meanwhile, next week end Tony Cairoli, who already won the first GP Valkenswaard, will be expected to put in another great performance in the second test of the MX1 World series scheduled on the Bulgarian circuit in Sevlievo.

FLÈCHE WALLONNE: SIDI OVER THE TOP ON THE HUY WALL
The wins of Joaquim Rodriguez
Maser, April 20, 2012 – The great row of successes for Sidi continues on the roads of the big classic cycling races. After the poker at Amstel Gold Race with Enrico Gasparotto (Astana) winning, and four Sidi athletes in the first four places of the standings, Sidi also had the pleasure of winning the Flèche Wallone atop the famous Huy slope. The author of this magnificent success was Joaquim Rodriguez. Sidi Genius 6.6 Carbon Lite shoes were with him as always, on the highest step of the podium. The strongly competitive Spanish rider from team Katusha thus confirms that he is a specialist in this type of race finish, with short but very tough and challenging slopes right at the end. The “northern campaign” hasn’t finished yet and there’s one more prestigious event awaiting Sidi and its champions. The Liège-Bastogne-Liège – one of the five monumental classic races the calendar envisages -- will in fact take place on Sunday in Doyenne. With such champions, spectacular moments won’t be missing!
WITH THE BULGARIAN GP TONY CAIROLI STRENGTHENS HIS LEAD OVER HIS RIVALS IN THE CLASSIFICATION
Cairoli obtains third place and maintains his leadership in the World Series
Maser (Treviso), 23 April, 2012 – When he races, he always races to win, but Tony Cairoli knows well that a World Title victory is something to build up, without leaving any points by the wayside. This is why even podiums and placements become super important in the balance of an entire season. This is the lens through which to read the third place obtained by the super-champion from the Sidi Sport stables on Sunday in the Bulgarian Grand Prix in Sevlievo, the second test in the 2012 World Series, on a hostile course which has never brought him much luck, on a harsh terrain which he doesn’t particularly love.
His podium is worth a lot in order to rack up points in the World Series’ general classification, where Cairoli remains firmly in command with a 9-point advantage over his closest rival, Gautier Paulin; he also lengthened his lead over another potential threat to the title, Clement Desalle. So it is with this advantage that Tony will line up next Sunday, April 29th, on the Fano circuit for the “hometown” race, the Italian GP, where the motocross phenomenon will surely want to return to winning his way, conquering all, putting all his adversaries in line from the first lap to the last and thrilling the crowds of fans which will surely be numerous for the event.
“I’m happy with this third place and the points it accrued,” explained Tony Cairoli after the race. “In the first heat perhaps I could have done something more if I had attacked a little earlier, but that’s just how it went. Then in the second round I took third place and the final podium. Now I’m looking forward to the Italian Grand Prix in Fermo, and I’m happy to get there with the red chart of leader in the general classification.”

MOTO GP: PORTUGAL GRAND PRIX
Dovizioso, Crutchlow and Bautista do well. Pirro is growing. Edwards' scare.
Maser (TV), 07 May, 2012 - The Moto GP season continues for the riders from the Sidi Sport stables. The race that took place on Sunday, May 6th, on the Lusitanian circuit in Estoril was won by Casey Stoner, and it once again confirmed Andrea Dovizioso, Cal Crutchlow and Alvaro Bautista in the motorcycle world series top ten. The three men crossed the finish line under the checkered flag respectively in fourth, fifth and sixth place. As always, they were all wearing Vortice boots, the number one footwear for speed and track from the Sidi Sport collection. In the first three tests of the 2012 world series up to now - in Qatar, Spainand Portugal- the attacking pair from team Monster Yamaha Tech 3 made up of Dovizioso and Crutchlow proved to be very fast and competitive, consistently finishing among the first five places on all the circuits. These encouraging results show how Sidi pilots can always compete with the best and are gunning to make it to the podium soon. Spain's Bautista is also racing at a high level on his Honda from team San Carlo Gresini, collecting two sixths and a seventh place so far and growing also thanks in part to the development of his motorcycle race after race. Some encouraging news from Portugalalso came to Michele Pirro. In fact, the Italian rider from team San Carlo showed his killer instinct and made the most of the potential of his current CRT motorcycle (a "hybrid" bike along the lines of those that race in Moto2 but equipped with a 1000cc motor instead of a 600cc) to finish his first race of the season in fourteenth place, thus obtaining his first world series points. The Estoril track also saw some scary moments for Colin Edwards, who together with Frenchman Randy De Puniet was involved in a nasty fall during Saturday's qualifying rounds. The American pilot suffered a third degree fracture to his left clavicle and had to withdraw from the Portuguese race; instead he was taken immediately toBarcelona, where he will undergo surgery. Now the Texas Tornado's goal is to try to recover and get back on a bike in two weeks, in time forLe Mans. Edwards has always been one of the most outstanding champions from the Sidi stables, and the entire staff here at Sidi Sport send him our best wishes for a quick recovery.
SIDI SPORT STARS IN MOTOCROSS USA
Second place for David Millsaps in the World AMA Supercross 2012
Maser (Treviso), 09 May, 2012 – AMA Supercross 2012 reached its conclusion with the seventeenth and last event at the Sam Body Stadium in Las Vegas. Sidi Sport has also made its mark on the most intense American motocross circuit in the States thanks to David Millsaps.
In Las Vegas Millsaps rode his Yamaha to close out the final race of the year in second place, right behind Ryan Dungey. Born in Orlando,Floridain 1985 but a resident in California, “Davi”’s brilliant performance this season also carried him to second place in the final classification for the series. At the beginning of the season no one could have predicted this great result, which was built by the American race after race. Millsaps has had a shining career that also includes the 2006 World Title in the Supercross Lites cadet category, and he has become one of the most talented and competitive pilots on the American circuit.
The final verdict in the world rankings speaks for itself: the champion is Ryan Villopoto, prevailing in first place with 323 points, followed by David Millsaps in second place with 266 points. The winner ofLas Vegas, Ryan Dungey, was overall third with 257 points, while Justin Bryton was fourth with 257 points and Jake Weimer was fifth with a total of 229.
This second place is really an important and prestigious result for Sidi Sport, which stands out at the forefront of World Motocross racing on the Old Continent, where Tony Cairoli and other aces from the Sidi stables dominate, and in America, where David Millsaps is keeping the Sidi colors flying high. The common denominator in these extraordinary successes is Sidi Crossfire, the number one boot for cross that is confirming itself as the unbeatable king of off road, in any situation and on any type of terrain.
ARRIBA, ARRIBA, ANDALE, ANDALE!
MOTOCROSS, MEXICO GP
Maser, May 15, 2012 – Tony Cairoli and Sidi Sport put their mark on the first-ever motocross World Championship race to take place inMexico. The unstoppable streak of successes of the KTM champion goes on with his win in the MX1 category. The race took place on May 13 on theGuadalajara track inMexico. After two spectacular and very close races, Cairoli conquered his second seasonal title, bringing his career tally to 45.
After a Speedy Gonzales-like fast start, Cairoli dominated and won race1, crossing the checkered flag on the finish line alone. During race2 Cairoli, who didn’t start quite as fast, encountered a few problems but was prompt to react, literally unleashing his talent and being able to come back from behind and obtain third place. Given those two results, Cairoli was the winner of the first edition of the Mexico Grand Prix, bringing Sidi Crossfire boots with him on the highest step of the podium.
Ken de Dycker completed the great success for Sidi, riding a KTM motorcycle and ending third in race1 and fifth in race2. The rider was barely left out of the podium, obtaining fourth place in the overall Grand Prix standings. GIRO D'ITALIA: GO PURITO!
STAGE AND PINK JERSEY FOR SIDI SPORT AND JOAQUIM RODRIGUEZ
Maser (Treviso), May 16, 2012 – The arrival in Assisi looked like it was custom-made for Purito Rodriguez, and the Spanish rider didn’t miss this great chance. Whenever there’s a slope, Rodriguez starts attacking, especially with finish lines like theAssisi one, atop brief slopes with challenging gradients. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a classic race or a big stage race, Rodriguez will deliver.
The Spanish rider from Team Katusha obtained a double success on May 15 as he crossed the finish line of stage 10 of the Giro d’Italia: a stage win and the race leader’s pink jersey. Rodriguez edget outPoland’s Bartosz Huzarski (NetApp) and Italian Giovanni Visconti (Movistar), and now leads the overall standings with 17 seconds of advantage on former pink jersey holder Ryder Hesjedal (Garmin), while Paolo Tiralongo (Astana) trails by 32 seconds in third place.
Rodriguez thus reaffirmed his status as one of the big champions of the Sidi group, and certainly as one of the protagonists of the 2012 Tour of Italy.
Thanks to Joaquim Rodriguez’s beautiful success, Sidi’s Tour of Italy turns pink like the leader’s jersey as well. Purito in fact won wearing the Ergo 3 Carbon Sidi shoes, the top model of the range of Sidi Sport shoes for road cycling.
A “CALIFORNIA DREAM” FOR SAGAN & SIDI
Five stage successes for Peter Sagan at the Tour of California
Maser (Treviso), 21 May, 2012 - Peter Sagan has won, or better yet, has blown away the field on the roads of the Tour of California. The strong Slovak rider from Team Liquigas-Cannondale managed to dominate in 5 out of the 8 stages scheduled in the American stage race. Also his was the victory on the fantastic final finish line in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 20th, where the Slovak beat the strong couple from Omega Pharma Quick-Step, Tom Boonen and Gerard Ciolek.
As always, Sidi Sport and Liquigas-Cannondale are in it to win it, together. In fact, there to celebrate with Sagan were his Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes, footwear representing the top of the line in the Sidi collection worn by the athletes on Team Liquigas-Cannondale in their extraordinary feats on roads throughout the world. There was a huge, standing-room only party for Sidi Sport, which also prevailed in the final classification of the Tour of California won by Robert Gesink (Rabobank), who won out over stars and stripes hometown favourites David Zabrinskie and Tom Danielson, both from Garmin-Barracuda.

First in race 1 as well as in race 2, inArco Chiara beat Italian Francesca Nocera and Poland’s Joanna Miller. After 2nd place in 2011, this year Chiara seems determined to go all out for the rainbow title. Now she’s firmly in command, 144 points ahead ofHolland’s Van der Wekken, who’s second with 98 points, and Frenchwoman Livia Lancelot, another star from the Sidi stables, who’s third with 92 points.
As always, on the top of the podium she was wearing her Sidi Crossfire boots, the number one for off road, which were individually made for her with special graphics to commemorate the Italian World series race.
Once she’s hidden her golden locks and friendly eyes under her helmet, Chiara is transformed in to an authentic motocross war machine. Talent, guts and determination are her winning cards when she goes out in the field. Even Tony Cairoli, the undisputed phenomenon from World Motocross racing, said, “She’s really good, she’s got talent and great technical skill on a motorbike.”
These two aces have more than mud and dirt in common; they also both wear Sidi Crossfire boots, the boots of champions. In fact, both athletes are part of the Sidi Sport stables of champions. It’s an enormous satisfaction for Sidi, who can boast two number ones in its world motocross ranks, both in the men’s and women’s fields.

CONGRATULATIONS FOR PURITO RODRIGUEZ!
More than one week in the pink jersey, second on the final podium, two stage victories and the points’ jersey
Maser (Treviso), 29 May, 2012 – It was without a doubt a great Giro di’Italia in which Joaquim Rodriguez stood out as a major player, finishing second on the final podium in Milan. The Spaniard from Team Katusha was a formidable force on the awesome climbs; he took two glorious stage victories inAssisi and Cortina d’Ampezzo and after having worn the pink jersey for more than a week it was only in the last stage, the time trial inMilan, that he was forced to concede first place to Canada’s Hesjedal.
Alas, time trials are not Purito Rodriguez’s specialty, and for a mere 16”he had to take off the pink jersey and cede it to the Canadian who nevertheless deservedly won the Giro. It was actually the time trial that shook up the final classification in the pink race: first place went to Canadian Ryder Hesjedal (Garmin-Barracuda), second to Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha) at 16”and third to Belgian Thomas De Gendt (Vacansoleil) at 1’.39”. Honours to the winner but congratulations also to Joaquim Rodriguez on his excellent performance. Rodriguez could also console himself by winning the red jersey that distinguishes the leader of the classification for points.
Sidi’d success on the roads of the 2012 Giro is rounded out as well by the white jersey for the best young rider in the classification, which was captured by Colombian Rigoberto Uran (Team Sky).
As always, accompanying Purito Rodriquez on his long, pink adventure were his Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes, while Rigoberto Uran wore the Genius 6.6 Carbon. These are the shoes of champions, two models that represent the top of the line in the Sidi Sport collection. Congratulations to them and all the other champions from the Sidi Sport stables who carried the Sidi name high and proud along the roads of the peninsula during these three weeks of a fantastic Giro d’Italia.

SIDI SPORT, GIULIANO RAZZOLI’S VISIT
The Olympic Slalom Champion cycles with Sidi shoes
Maser (Treviso), 31 May, 2012 – Giuliano Razzoli recently paid a visit to the Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser; as always, we appreciated this visit by the Italian National Team skier who won Italy the gold medal in the special slalom at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.
“We were really pleased with Razzoli’s visit,” says Rosella Signori who, in addition to heading Sidi Sport alongside her father, Dino Signori, is also a big fan of alpine skiing. “Giuliano is not only a great champion, he’s also a really nice guy, always polite and approachable. We met on the slopes of Passo San Pellegrino during the 2010 Italian Championships, after his fantastic victory at the Olympics, and we immediately became fast friends. Unfortunately, in the last two seasons Giuliano has been a bit unlucky due to some accidents, but for the next season we hope he’ll get back to being number one in his specialty.”
The visit was also the perfect occasion to present the champion with a pair of MTB Dragon 3 Carbon shoes custom made for “Razzo”, who, after a brief vacation, will use them for his training between the gym and his bike before returning to his skis for his training regimen on a glacier.
So once again Sidi shoes are the shoes of champions. And not only great champions from the worlds of cycling and motorcycling use them; in fact, there are plenty of champions from all walks of sports who use Sidi shoes for road cycling and mountain biking, for passion or because they use their bike as a training instrument to prepare for their individual disciplines, just like Giuliano Razzoli and the other athletes on the Italian National Ski Team.
Attached are the photos of Giuliano Razzoli’s visit.

MOTOCROSS, CHIARA FONTANESI WINS AGAIN
The Sidi women's champion is closer to becoming the queen of the World series
Maser (Treviso), 11 June, 2012 - another race, another victory! This is the extraordinary rhythm with which Chiara Fontanesi, the lady's champion from Sidi Sport, is taking on the 2012 WMX World Series. Without a doubt, what we have here is the ever more undisputed queen of world motocross. The beautiful, gutsy Italian ace dominated last week's race in Croatia. Then on Sunday, June 10, she put in a repeat performance in the Slovenia Grand Prix, on the Orehova Vas circuit, where she laid down the law by winning the race and adding to her lead over her rivals in the World Series classification. This time Chiara wasn't able to pull off a double, like she did in her last two World Series forays, but by winning race2 she overcame her rival Kane, winner of the first round of the day, and reinforced her leadership in the championship, in which she is soaring with a 63 points advantage over Kane.
Meanwhile, in the MX1 the number one in motocross Tony Cairoli continues accruing important points for the world classification. Of course, a champion like him is used to winning, but in order to clinch the world series it's also important to maintain consistency throughout the entire series. Tony is well aware of this, so his third place in the Portugal Grand Prix, which saw the Sicilian rider come in third in race1 and second in race2 on the Agueda circuit, behind his rivals Desalle and Paulin, becomes priceless.
Chiara and Tony are two authentic phenomena who make up a winning combination for the Sidi Sport stables. Winning and shining with them in the Olympus of world motocross are Sidi Crossfire boots, the number one in Sidi's off road collection that are winning secret weapons in the arsenals of these two extraordinary champions. The world series season still has a ways to go and there's no doubt that Tony, Chiara and Sidi Sport will continue to enjoy plenty of rewards.

SUPERSPORT: SIDI & KENAN SOFUOGLU FIRST AT MISANO
The Turkish rider now heads the Supersport World series
Maser (Treviso), 11 June, 2012 - The Sidi colors are also shining on the tracks of the Supersport World series. In Misano Adriatico the Turkish rider ,Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki DeltaFin Lorenzini) prevailed in the Supersport class at the San Marino Grand Prix after participating in a passionate, hard fought, head-to-head battle with Frenchman Jules Cluzel (PTR Honda). It was a battle that lasted practically for the entire race, which saw the Turk crossing beneath the checkered flag ahead of his rival by just 1 second and 228 nanoseconds, earned by Sofuoglu after a decisive attack in the final. It was definitely a two man battle, as demonstrated by the duo's more than 20 second lead over Italian Francesco Baldolini (Triumph Power Team by Suriano).
It was a truly lovely victory for Sidi and Sofuoglu, who are riding a wave of success together. On the podium the Turkish rider was wearing his Vortice boots, the number one in the Sidi Sport collection for track and speed. This is a second season success for Sofuoglu, after the first place he won at his world series premiere at PhillipIsland. Thanks to this victory, Sofuoglu is building and strengthening his leadership in the championship. He is now in first place with 106 points, 30 lengths ahead of his closest rival, Frenchman Jules Cluzel, who was beaten last Sunday at Misano.
TONY CAIROLI SCORES A DOUBLE IN BELGIUM
The Sidi champion continues his domination in World Series MX1
Maser (Treviso), 18 June, 2012 - Tony Cairoli won the Belgian Grand Prix in the MX1 class, which was held on Sunday, June 17 on the Bastogne circuit in Wallonia. This win counts as the eighth test in the 2012 World Championship series. A gutsy and determined Cairoli won the race his way, clearly dominating both heats, thus handing the Sidi Sport colors another enormous satisfaction. The five-time World Champion is sending out a strong message to all his adversaries by winning inBelgium, home of his number one rival Clemente Desalle, who was second today in the final standings of the grand prix after coming in third in both races.
The track was new to everyone, but the number-one world motocross rider had no problems. Tony Cairoli was riding his KTM wearing his inseparable Sidi Crossfire boots. In the first heat he dominated from the very start, coming in ahead of Frenchman Gautier Paulin (Kawasaki) and Belgian Clement Desalle (Suzuki). In the second heat the rider from Messina beat Frenchman Christophe Pourcel (Kawasaki), Belgians Clement Desalle (Suzuki), and Kevin Stijbos (KTM) and Russian Evgeny Bobryshev (Honda).
The General Classification for the World Series is at the halfway mark after eight out of the sixteen scheduled races, and Tony Cairoli is way out in front with 345 points, a good lead on the second placed rider, Clement Desalle with 298 points. After them Christophe Pourcel is in third place with 292 points and Gautier Paulin is fourth with 289 points.
“I'm happy I won in Belgium, which is kind of like my second home and the birthplace of this sport; it meant a lot to me to make it to the highest step of the podium in this race," explains Cairoli. “Well, I did it and in addition to the victory I gained some important points for the classification. I knew it would be important to get a good start and I managed to do so. In the first heat everything went according to plan. I took off in the lead and went long on my adversaries so that I could control the advantage. In the second heat I caught up, being careful not to make any errors. Then once I was ahead I managed to gain a slight advantage over Desalle and administer the race to the finish line.”
TRICOLORE PARTY FOR SIDI SPORT
All of the most important wins at the national championships had Sidi’s signature
Maser, June 26, 2012- The Tricolore Week was full of satisfying results for Sidi Sport. This year, the races to award national champion titles in various categories took place on the roads of Trentino, in the Valsugana area.
Amongst the most beautiful races was the in line race for professional cyclists, that took place on June 23 in Borgovalsugana. Franco Pellizotti (Androni-Giocattoli), who had gotten back on his saddle after a long and difficult period of absence, managed to leave all his opponents behind on a 250-kilometer long, difficult route. Sidi’s Genius 6.6 Carbon shoes, that together with the Ergo 3 Carbon shoes are the top model in the Sidi collection, wore the tricolore jersey together with Pellizotti. It was a tricolore party for Sidi Sport that also placed three of its champions in the first three places of the overall standings: Franco Pellizotti was first, Danilo Di Luca (Acqua e Sapone) ended second, while young talent Moreno Moser (Liquigas-Cannondale) finished third.
Sidi obtained a major success on the Italian roads having won not just the professional race, but also the Under23 competition on Friday, with cyclists who can be considered the young talents of tomorrow: Francesco Bongiorno (Team Hopplà) was first, Davide Formolo (Petroli Firenze) ended second, and Kristian Sbaragli (Team Hopplà) got third place.
Sidi confirmed itself as a protagonist during the racing weekend not only because of the Italian national championships, but also thanks to the performances of other athletes around the world. One of the most beautiful and important wins in the in-line races was the one Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Cannondale) obtained, that allowed him to be reconfirmed as Slovak champion, then there was Francisco Ventoso (Movistar) in Spain, Nacer Bouhanni (Française des Jeux) in France, as well as Timmy Duggan (Liquigas-Cannondale) in the U.S.. In Croatia, Vladimir Miholijevic (Acqua e Sapone) triumphed, while Assan Bazayev (Astana) won in Kazakhstan.
A lot of successes came from the time-trial races as well: Tony Martin (Omega Pharma – Quick-Step) won in Germany, Peter Velits (Omega Pharma – Quick-Step) won in Slovakia, Luis Leon Sanchez (Rabobank) triumphed in Spain while Maciej Bodnar (Liquigas-Cannondale) ended first in Poland.
In the women’s in line races, Sidi obtained successes in Switzerland with Jennifer Hohl, in Russia with Yulia Blindyuk and in Estonia with Grete Teier, who also won the national time-trial championship title.
SIDI PARTIES IN LETTONIA WITH CAIROLI, DE DYCKER AND GONCALVES
Victory and World Series leadership for Cairoli
Maser (Treviso), 17 July, 2012 – It was a perfect day for Tony Cairoli and Sidi Sport in the Latvian GP on Sunday, July 15th. On the circuit at Kemugs the Sicilian ace was back to putting all his adversaries in line. After an unfortunate transfer in Sweden, where the flag bearer for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing MX1 team lost his leadership in the classification due to an incredible double drop, Cairoli is smiling again with his fifth victory in this Grand Prix season, having recaptured the red card that indentifies the leader in the championship series. Now he’s on top of the motocross world, looking down on everyone else with his Sidi Crossfire boots, the number one motocross footwear that’s unbeatable on any terrain and in any weather condition. In the tenth test of the World MX1 Championship series that played out in Latvia, the five-time World Champion, riding his KTM SX 350 F, re-established his place in the provisional MX1 World classification, taking the lead by twelve points on his closest rival, Belgian Clement Desalle (Suzuki). On a track made quite insidious due to rain that also came down during the trials, in race1 Cairoli burst out in pole position and immediately broke away in a sprint towards the chequered flag, clinching a decisive victory with more than fifteen seconds’ advantage over second placed team mate Ken DeDycker, who also put in an excellent performance with a great comeback, and third placed Portuguese Rui Goncalves (Honda) for a podium covered completely by Sidi. In race2 the same script seemed to be playing out but unfortunately Cairoli was sidetracked by a brutal fall. Tony got back into the race in fifth position regardless of pain in his right hand which he sustained during the fall, and he managed to regain position after position to wrap up the race in second place on the heels of Kevin Strijbos (KTM), with a determined DeDycker right behind him in third place. So it was a great party for the Sidi Sport colours in the final classification for the Latvian GP. Sidi Crossfire boots dominated the podium. In addition to Cairoli’s victory, in fact, we saw his team mate DeDyckers on his first season podium in second place and Rui Goncalves in fourth place but with equal points as third placed Kevin Strybos.

SIDI SPORT PUTS ITS STAMP ON THE TOUR DE POLOGNE
Moreno Moser 1, Michal Kwiatkowski 2 and Sergio Luis Henao Montoya 3
Maser (Treviso), 19 July, 2012 - Sidi Sport scored a triple on the roads of the Tour de Pologne. The 69th edition of the Polish stage race that played out from July 10th to the 16th featured champions from the Sidi stables as the undisputed stars of the show.
On the final podium in Krakowall the steps were occupied by Sidi footwear. The strongest contender was the young colour bearer for Team Liquigas-Cannondale, Moreno Moser. Moser literally blew away all the competition, capturing the final jersey and winning two fantastic stages. Rounding out Sidi’s success in Polish territory was hometown idol Michal Kwiatkowski (Omega Pharma Quick-Step) and third place went to Colombian Sergio Luis Henao Montoya (Team Sky). These three young champions all have bright futures ahead of them and are sure to be the focus of much attention in upcoming events.
Thus the Tour de Pologne has confirmed itself as an important race that can bring young riders and new talent in to the spotlight. Last year on these same roads, victory belonged to another Sidi Sport great, Slovak Peter Sagan who now stands out as one of the best riders on the world cycling scene. It was Sagan in 2011 and now Moser in 2012, two champions who emerged from the ranks of Team Liquigas-Cannondale. So the winning combination between Sidi Sport and Liquigas-Cannondale is being consolidated victory after victory, thanks to the enterprises of these extraordinary guys.
Attached are the photos of the three Sidi Sport champions on the final podium inKrakowfor the 2012Tour de Pologne.
Peter Sagan conquista la maglia verde della classifica a punti
Peter Sagan conquered the green points jersey
Maser (Treviso), 23 July, 2012 - Sidi Sport is extremely pleased with the podium obtained in the Tour de France by Christopher Froome (Team Sky) and Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Cannondale), second and third place respectively in the final classification. Of course, on the podium inParis these two were wearing their Sidi Sport shoes, the footwear of champions that once agian in this season are reaffirming themselves as major players in every corner or the world. From the great classics to the major stage races, Sidi is there, winning together with our champions. Chris Froome was fundamental in contributing to the victory of the yellow jersey on behalf of his captain Bradley Wiggins. The Brit born in 1985 hailing form Kenya was already second last year in the Vuelta Espana and with what he did in this Tour, both on the climbs and the time trials, we are sure that in the near future he will return to the roads of France to vie for the yellow jersey.
Same goes for Vincenzo Nibali, Sicilian born in 1984, who showed grit and determination on the roads of the Grande Boucle. On the legendary steep climbs of the Alps and Pyrenees, the “Shark from the Straight” was one of the best, and in the more than100 km of time trials in this Tour he was adept at defending himself from the specialists, thus working stage after stage to build this splendid final podium. This Tour podium has consolidated Nibali’s maturation; he has become THE man to count on inItaly for the major stage races. Nibali already won the 2010 Vuelta and has been to the podium twice in the Giro d’Italia, in 2010 and in 2011; now he’s also made it to third in the Tour, thus becoming the second Italian rider in history after Felice Gimondi to manage to make it to the podium for all three majorTours.
Also, rounding out Sidi Sport’s success at the 2012 Tour de France, we find the green jersey distinguishing the leader in the points standings, captured by the phenomenal Peter Sagan Liquigas-Cannondale). This jersey represents one more pearl in the portfolio put together by the young Slovak rider who will be someone to be reckoned with for everyone, even in the up-coming London Olympic games. Vincenzo Nibali and Peter Sagan are two of the sharpest arrows in the quiver of the Liquigas-Cannondale formation, where all the riders wear Sidi Sport shoes for a winning combination that delivers great results in every race.
Attached are photos with Froome and Nibali on the final podium in Paris and Peter Sagan in the green jersey.
SIDI SPORT UNBEATABLE ON TRACK AND OFFROAD
MX1: Cairoli & De Dycker - Supersport: Foret & Sofuoglu
Maser (Treviso), 24 July, 2012 – From the fast asphalt of the track to the insidious terrain of motocross, the song remains the same. The spotlight is always on them, the champions from the Sidi Sport stables. Sidi is truly living a magical moment through the enterprises of our riders. In motocross the man to beat (a difficult feat for everyone!) is… Antonio Cairoli who, victory after victory is working on the conquest of his 6th championship title. In the latest contest, that is the Russian GP on the Semigorje circuit, the flag bearer for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing MX1 stuck to his favourite script: first in race1, first in race2 and victory in the final classification in the Grand Prix, thus further strengthening his lead in the general classification for the World Series over his closest rival, Desalle. Rounding out the success of the Sidi Sport colours was Belgian Ken De Dycker, Cairoli’s stable mate, who came in second in race1 and third in race2 to make it to third place in the final classification of the Grand Prix. De Dycker showed fantastic form on his second podium for the season. As always, Sidi riders can take on all terrain in even the most difficult weather with their Sidi Crossfire boots. The Sidi Sport champions from the 600 Supersport category also put on quite a show on the track. It was a Sidi-branded two man duel last weekend on the Brno circuit in the Czech Republic. Frenchman Fabien Foret clinched the race ahead of the other Sidi colour bearer Kenan Sofuoglu at the end of a compelling battle. They were both wearing their Sidi Vortice boots, the number one footwear for speed and track. Now the World Series general classification is headed by Turk Sofuoglu, with Foret in third place and gaining ground. The race for the world title is still wide open.
MOTOCROSS: CAIROLI GIVES SIDI SPORT ANOTHER MAGIC TRIUMPH
In the Czech Republic the Italian ace clinches his 50th GP
Maser (Treviso), 06 August, 2012 – After a short summer break, the motocross World Championship series returned with the Czech Republic GP. The reigning category MX1 championship is back just the way we left it, with just one man firmly in command, the number one in world motocross, Tony Cairoli.
On the Czech circuit in Loket, in spite of the suffocating heat, Cairoli raced in his usual manner, entertaining the crowds and enjoying himself while laying down his law from the first lap to the last. The result was a double and final victory in the Grand Prix. With an impressive pace the champion from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing MX1 ceded the places of honour to Frenchman Christophe Pourcel and Belgian Clement Desalle. In race 1 Cairoli ruled the race from the first curve, dominating the test. Race 2 was all adrenaline, with a fantastic comeback from behind by Cairoli all the way to the highest step on the podium. Completing Sidi’s success was a third place in race 1 by German Max Nagl, Cairoli’s stable mate who is actually fourth in the final standings of the GP.
Tony Cairoli keeps racking up record numbers. In fact the total Grand Prix wins for this motocross phenomenon now stand at 50! After the five titles he’s already got under his belt, the Sicilian champion has scored another record in his extraordinary career and is aiming to win his sixth title, taking on all the challenges from here to the end of the season with his head held high. To do this, as always he can count on his inseparable Sidi Crossfire, the number one boots for motocross and off road. In addition to his personal record of GP wins, in the Czech Republic Cairoli also captured the 101st victory heat of his career, after a spectacular performance.

THE VATTENFALL CYCLASSIC BELONGS TO ARNAUD DEMARE
The young Frenchman delivers the Hamburg classic to the Sidi colours
Maser (Treviso), 20 August, 2012 - Sidi Sport is celebrating Arnaud Demare's victory in the Vattenfall Cyclassic. It was a sprinting final in Hamburg, where the neo-professional Frenchman Arnaud Demare prevailed. The trans-Alpine rider from Fdj-BigMat captured victory with a powerful sprint, coming in ahead of hometown favorite Andre Greipel (Lotto Belisol). Third place went to Italian Giacomo Nizzolo (Radio Shack-Nissan) and fourth to Belgian Tom Boonen (Omega Pharma - Quick Step). With his sprint Demare put some important names in line, adding to the prestige of his victory. Sidi Ergo 3 Carbon shoes made it to the highest step on the podium of the Vattenfall Cyclassic with him.
For Demare, who turns 21 next August 26, this is the most important victory in his young career. Previously this year he already made his mark on three separate occasions: in the fifth stage at the Tour of Qatar, the second stage of the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen and the second stage of the Route de Sud. Now in Hamburghe's clinched another important classic. Here's a new name in cycling we'll be seeing a lot more of, not to mention that last season Demare also won the rainbow jersey as the under 23 World Champion in Copenhagen, Denmark.
This is also a source of enormous satisfaction for Sidi Sport, which can now boast this young talent among its ranks. Demare and Sidi share a special relationship. In fact, this year when the rider visited the Sidi headquarters in Maser he came with his father, who is a huge cycling fan and wanted to get to know and see the place where they make the shoes used by great champions of all time. The same shoes which his son has practically been wearing as long as he's been racing bikes, from his first rides at the age of eight in the super youth class all the way to the top of the under 23 World Championship podium in Copenhagen and now among the pros.
Attached: photo of the victory and the photo of Demare's visit to Sidi headquarters in Maser (Treviso).
KIARA FONTANESI IS THE NEW WOMEN’S CHAMPION IN THE WORLD OF MOTOCROSS
The Italian Super-ace wears Sidi Crossfire boots.
Maser (Treviso), 20 August, 2012 - Kiara Fontanesi is the new Women’s World Champion in the wmx class in motocross. This sought-after, desired victory arrived in the British Grand Prix, the seventh and second-to-last test in the wmx World Series, which took place last weekend on theMatterleyBasin circuit.
This prestigious result is a source of great pride for both Kiara Fontanesi and for Sidi Sport, since we were along for the adventure with our Sidi Crossfire boots, the number one footwear for motocross and off road. The super-ace fromParma first got on a motorcycle when she was just two-and-a-half years old and this result is the dream of a lifetime. At the tender age of 18 she will go down in history as the first Italian woman to carry the rainbow coloured championship sceptre that is reserved to the ladies of motocross.
Kiara has had a perfect season, dominating the Grand Prix by winning hands-down in practically every race of the World series with class, guts and determination.
In England, on the first day of racing Kiara barely missed championship victory in the first heat by one point, but in race 2 the Italian rider didn’t lose sight of the World title. She only needed a twentieth place to prevail over her closest rival in the classification, Kane, to mathematically guarantee herself victory in the World Series. However, Kiara wanted to go one step beyond, giving it her all and firing up the crowd of fans as only great champions are wont to do. Nonetheless, the race got off to a chilling start: on a climb in the third curve, in an attempt to pass Lancelot, Kiara took a fall. There were quite a few excruciating moments while she tried to get her motor started again, but Kiara got it done and took off last, behind the group. At the end of the lap she was already sixteenth and from there she started her comeback to glory, in third place by the middle of the race. Only at the end of the race, when Kiara was all alone in third place, did she start to ride as only she knows how. She cut across the finish line on the wheels of another Sidi Sport great, French champion Livia Lancelot andBritain’s Natalie Kane. Then the party got started. There was a crowd of fans and supporters under the podium, celebrating their girl with sparkling wine and a jersey celebrating her World Championship title.
The Sidi Sport stable of champions can boast to having two World phenomena in this sport: in the men’s field there is the great Tony Cairoli, already a five-time World Champion, and now in the women’s sector Kiara Fontanesi is the women’s World Champion.
Cairoli himself was also a major player inBritain, where he won the Grand Prix and dominated both of his heats, reaffirming himself as world leader with an increasing points’ advantage. Also inEngland, Sidi Sport saw brilliant performances by Maximilian Nagl and Ken De Dycker, second and fourth, respectively.
Kiara Fontanesi is bringing home some world record numbers: 27 Grand Prix races and 54 contested heats; she captured victory in 7 Grand Prix (5 in2012) and in 19 heats, making it to the podium in no less than 12 consecutive Grand Prix. And this is only the beginning of a brilliantly promising career.
TONY CAIROLI’S ABSOLUTE DOMINANCE
In England the super-champ gives Sidi Sport another extraordinary success
Maser (TV), 21 August, 2012 - Tony Cairoli racked up a perfect race inEngland on theMatterleyBasin circuit. The undisputed leader in world motocross had no adversaries from the very first qualifying heat on Saturday and on Sunday he won both heats, leaving very little room for anyone else.
Cairoli is continuing to ride a wave of records. His career successes now stand at 51 and this is his fourth consecutive triumph in four races. It’s an unattainable rhythm for the rest of the competition. As always, throughout his extraordinary enterprises he wears his Sidi Crossfire boots, which have proven to be the number one footwear in motocross and off road, unbeatable on any type of terrain and in any weather conditions.
The British GP thus brought some great satisfaction to Sidi Sport, which saw both of its motocross phenomena triumph in the series: in the women’s field Kiara Fontanesi conquered the World Champion wmx title and among the men Tony Cairoli still hasn’t captured the title but seems intent on doing so.
After his KO inSweden, Cairoli in fact made a powerful comeback to command the championship in the MX1 class, winning seven out of eight heats. And now in the standings he has brought his advantage over his direct rival, Clement Desalle, to more than 55 points.
In the first heat Tony broke out in first place and immediately went long ahead of the group. He managed the race and set the pace from the first lap to the last, keeping a good distance on Ken De Dycker and Maximilian Nagl, who were also both wearing Sidi Crossfire boots, arriving solo across the finish line that saw three Sidi riders in the top three positions.
In the second heat Tony was in fourth place at the first curve, but right afterward he passed Bobryshev and Rui Goncalves and during the final lap he also jumped past Nagl. From here he started his second breakaway of the day, which turned into victory in the heat and also the race.
It was a perfect race with a perfect victory on a weekend to remember for Sidi Sport and its champions.
TONY CAIROLI SHOW IN NEDERLAND TOO
Sidi Double wins: Cairoli in first and second place for De Dycker
Maser (TV), 03 September, 2012 – The third-to-last test in 2012 motocross took place last week-end in Holland. Sticking to the script in the MX1 class, the undisputed star once again was the man himself, the great Tony Cairoli.
The sand was the ideal terrain for the latest extraordinary enterprise by the five-time World Champion, who is in his element on this type of terrain and especially on this track. With his victory at Lierop Tony has scored his fifth consecutive success in the season, which brings him one small step closer to conquering his sixth World title.
In both heats Tony Cairoli was unstoppable. In race1 he showed up German Max Nagl and Belgian Ken De Dycker for a podium entirely dedicated to the Sidi Sport colours. He also dominated race2, where once again the fantastic Ken De Dycker and Estonian Tanel Leok came in behind him.
The final classifications in the Dutch grand Prix thus saw Sidi doubling the score, with Cairoli first and De Dycker second. Celebrating with them and shining on the podium once again were their Sidi Crossfire boots, confirming their place as number one in motocross and off road - truly unbeatable on any terrain.
Cairoli could be crowned World motocross king in Faenza, where the circuit will host the European Grand Prix next September 9th. It will be the second-to-last chapter in this thrilling, spectacular season. Tony has shown himself to be the strongest contender this far, but in order for him to claim the title as his own he cannot let his guard down, because his closet rivals are hungry and nipping at his heels: Desalle, his closest rival with a 76-point gap, and then Paulin, De Dycker and Pourcel are all lying in wait. It will be a spectacular battle to the very last metre and as always, Tony can count on one more ally, his Sidi Crossfire boots .

On this exceptional wave of success Cairoli has always been able to count on the essential and invaluable support of his inseparable Sidi boots, which on his feet have proven unbeatable on any type of terrain and in any weather condition.
For Sidi Sport the European Grand Prix and its enormous crowd of motocross fans will be the perfect showcase in which to preview their new Crossfire2 boot, the latest addition to the Sidi Sport collection for off road. Crossfire2 will be on display for the entire weekend of the race at the Sidi stand set up in the expo area of the paddock on theFaenza circuit. Its technical features make this boot a real gem of technology and design, developed and moulded on the experience and competence of Sidi technicians combined with feedback from the racing field and pilots from the Sid Sport stables.
Crossfire2 represents the evolution of the Crossfire boot which in these past years has managed to stand out at the most victorious and multi-titled footwear in the off road sector, thanks to the extraordinary enterprises of Tony Cairoli and other Sidi champions.
The Crossfire 2 boot will be officially presented to sector workers and the public on the occasion of the 70th International Expo on motorcycling in Milano which will take place from November 15th to the 18th, 2012.

THE CAIROLI PHENOMENON:HE WINS THE EUROPEAN GP AND CLINCHES HIS SIXTH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
With him at the top of the podium is Sidi Sport and our Crossfire 2 boots
Maser (Treviso), 10 September, 2012 – The number one in World motocross is Tony Cairoli. On Sunday, September 9th, on the European GP circuit in Faenza, in front of more than 24 thousand spectators, the Sicilian ace conquered his sixth motocross World Championship title, his fourth consecutive title in the reigning MX1 class, three races ahead of the end of the 2012 Championship series.
This result will consecrate Cairoli in the legend of motocross. All he had to do was arrive ahead of Frenchman Desalle to capture the title in the first heat. But Tony went one better. He dominated the heat and after the chequered flag was waved a fantastic party broke out. He could have been satisfied with this, but instead Cairoli rode his Ktm from Team De Carli to put on another show in race2; as the freshly crowned World Champion he made a solitary gallop, lighting up the crowd that was already celebrating his sixth World title and triumphing in the second heat as well, seizing the final classification in the European GP.
Tony Cairoli is on top of the world and so is Sidi Sport with our Sidi Crossfire 2, the new boot for motocross and off road that is an evolution of the Crossfire model which up to now has been the number one in Sidi Sport’s off road collection, enjoying tremendous success among professionals and fans all over the world. Thanks to successes by Cairoli and by other great champions from the Sidi pool, Crossfire has become the most winning, titled boot in its class. Now the torch is being passed to the Crossfire 2 which made its public debut at the European GP. In addition to shining on the podium with Cairoli, it was on display for the entire weekend of the race at the Sidi stand set up in the expo area of the paddock on the Faenza circuit. And the Sidi Stand was naturally graced by a visit from the great Cairoli, who was mobbed by fans vying for pictures and autographs.
Now Cairoli will be faced with the task of going for a new record, the one held by Belgian Stefan Everts, another great rider from the Sidi pool with ten world titles under his belt.
The entire staff at Sidi Sport congratulates Tony Cairoli for this latest great victory and the fantastic excitement he brought to all of us… Thank you, Tony!

SIDI SPORT WORLD CHAMPION IN XCO WITH NINO SCHURTER
All the Sidi medals from the mountain bike World Championships
Maser (Treviso), 11 September, 2012 – The mountain bike World Championships in Saalfelden-Leogang, Austria have brought tremendous satisfaction to the Sidi Sport colours. Our greatest joy came from the men’s Elite class where Sidi Sport clinched the world champion jersey thanks to a splendid victory by Switzerland’s Nino Schurter, already World Champion in Canberra 2009 and winner of this year’s World Cup. In Austria Nino recaptured gold after the silver medal he won at the London Olympics earlier this year. It was not so much payback for the Swiss ace as it was just more gratification, since an Olympic medal is also a very prestigious prize.
Rounding out Sidi’s success we find another two medals won in the Under 23 category with Czech Ondrej Cink, who took home the gold, and Italian Daniele Braidot, who won bronze. These two young riders will definitely be ones to watch in the future.
Sidi Sport could also celebrate the gold medal captured by the Italian National team in the team relay, where four athletes from different categories compete: one Junior, one Under, one Elite and one Woman. The Under 23 Luca Braidot, Daniele’s twin brother who also wears Sidi Sport shoes, was the last man in the medley that carried the blue-jersey Italians to victory and the team World Championship title. The Braidot twins Luca and Daniele are a new force for Sidi Sport as they forge ahead in the world of cycling with this young, entirely Sidi Sport-branded pair of attackers.
GIRO DI LOMBARDIA: JOAQUIM RODRIGUEZ CARRIES SIDI INTO HISTORY
Purito is the first Spaniard to win the Autumn Classic and now he’s number 1 in the rankings for the UCI World Tour 2012
Maser (Treviso), 01 October, 2012 – At the Giro di Lombardia it was an awful day of rain and cold, but the sun was shining on the Sidi Sport colours thanks to the extraordinary enterprises by our champions. The Autumn Classic thus has brought Sidi another enormous satisfaction. The day was headlined by Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha) who came in first place with arms raised at the finish line at Lungolario di Lecco.
Rounding out an all-Sidi success was the second place garnered by Samuel Sanchez (Euskaltel Euskadi), another great from the Sidi pool, and the third place commandeered by Colombian Rigoberto Uran (Team Sky), one of the most promising young talents this year, standing out as the best new blood at the Giro d’Italia and capturing silver at the London Olympic Games. Purito won the race his way, pulling off a brief, scalding spurt to which no other rider could respond. On the podium these three extraordinary champions were all wearing Sidi Wire Carbon Vernice shoes, the new top-of-the-line model in the Sidi Sport road collection. This fantastic win projects Rodriguez in to the circle of world cycling legends. In fact, Purito is the first Spaniard in history to have signed his name to the annals of the Giro di Lombardia. Not only this, thanks to his victory, which has crowned a magnificent season during which he has figured as a major player in both the classics and the stage races, Rodriguez has also moved to the top of the UCI World Tour general classification that keeps tabs of riders’ seasonal performances in all the most important races on the international calendar, taking over the leadership from Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins.
Attached are photos of the podium and of Purito Rodriguez in action with the new Sidi Wire Carbon Vernice.
SUPERSPORT KENAN SOFUOGLU WORLD CHAMPION WITH SIDI SPORT
Third World title for the Turkish pilot. Sidi Vortice is with him.
Maser (Treviso), 02 October, 2012 – For the Sidi Sport colours 2012 has really been a year to remember in motor sports, off road as much as on the track. After victories in the world of motocross – in the men’s field with Tony Cairoli and in the women’s world with Kiara Fontanesi – now from the track Sidi has claimed another prestigious trophy for our collection. That would be Kenan Sofuoglu’s World title in the Supersport class. This success has even come one race before the end of the World series; in fact the last act will take place on Sunday, October 7 in Magny Cours, France. Thanks to the second place he garnered on the Portuguese circuit in Portimao, in the second-to-last rainbow race, the Turkish pilot was crowned World Supersport Champion for the third time in his career, the first as a pilot for team Kawasaki Lorenzini. Sofuoglu was an authentic matador in the 2012 Supersport season. These are record numbers for the ace from Adapazari, the undisputed leader in World Supersport in terms of victories (21 total), trips to the podium (no less than 48 out of 68 races) and now even World titles, a whopping three (2007, 2010, 2012).
So it turns out that Kenan Sofuoglu and Sidi Sport are a winning partnership. On his victorious rides throughout the season and all the way to his triumph on the highest step of the World Championship podium, Sofouglu was wearing Sidi Vortice boots, the number one footwear for speed and track.
TONY MARTIN, THE TIME MASTER
He wears Sidi Wire shoes for even lighter high performance.
Maser (Treviso), 09 October, 2012 - Tony Martin has confirmed his absolute dominance in tests against the clock, dominating today's TT at the 2012 Limburg World Championships. The German from Omega Pharma-Quick-Step took home the rainbow jersey and on the 46 km course in Valkenburg he literally blew away the competition, doubling down on the success he enjoyed last year inCopenhagen. In addition to his title in the individual time trial at the rainbow series inHolland, Martin was the locomotive that pushed and pulled his team towards the World Championship title for clubs.
As always Sidi Sport shoes were there with him with Wire, the new model from the top of the line in the road riding collection for 2013. The desire to improve and face new challenges led Sidi Sport to design and develop this new model, which is even lighter and higher performing compared to its predecessors. Sidi is inspired by the same drive that also motivates time trial specialists like Martin and their attention to every detail that can carry them beyond limits in the continuous race against the fractions of a second on a stop watch.
When you race at the highest levels, especially in the time trial, it's these details that make the difference and draw that fine line between the glory of victory and the agony of defeat. This is why Tony Martin, who is always attentive to every minor detail and motivated by the need to minimize weight and drag while maximizing aerodynamics, was one of the first champions from the Sidi pool to field test the new Wire, contributing his athletic experience to the development and perfection of this new, extraordinary, high-performance model. As always, the on-road performance of great Sidi champions are the ideal proving grounds to try and test all new solutions, which are then made available to the wider public of enthusiasts and fans.

A SIDI WIRE SPECIAL EDITION FOR PURITO RODRIGUEZ TO CELEBRATE HIS VICTORY IN THE 2012 WORLD TOUR FINAL CLASSIFICATION
The Spanish champion pays a visit to Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser
Maser (Treviso), 19 October, 2012 – After starring in the Gran Gala in Conegliano, Joaquim Rodriguez has been continuing his trip through Marca Trevigiana, paying a visit to the Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser, where the Spanish ace was hosted by Dino Signori and the entire Sidi staff.
As always, Sidi was really looking forward to Purito’s visit so we could congratulate him personally as one of our most outstanding athletes. Rodriguez has had a fantastic season, riding as a major player throughout the year, keeping an impressive pace in both the classics and in the major stage races that carried the Spaniard to the top of the final classification for the World Tour, the rankings that keep track of athletes’ overall seasonal performance, for the second time in is career (2010 and 2012).
Before heading off to a much needed and well deserved holiday, Rodriguez took advantage of this perfect occasion to work with the technical staff at Sidi to fine tune some details of the shoes he will be using next season. He will be wearing Sidi Wire shoes, the new, top-of-the-line model in the Sidi Sport road collection for 2013. Like other greats from the Sidi pool, Purito enjoyed enormous success field testing these shoes in the second part of the season that has just come to an end. And there was yet another surprise for Joaquim Rodriguez. To celebrate Purito’s extraordinary season, Dino Signori decided to dedicate a special edition of the Wire model to the Spanish champion, specifically personalised for him to commemorate his victory in the final classification of the World Tour with special graphics marking his victory.
“I’d like to thank Dino Signori and the entire Sidi Sport staff for this lovely, much appreciated surprise,” says the Spanish champion from Team Katusha. “It will be an honour and a privilege for me to ride with these shoes. I’ve been wearing Sidi Sport shoes since 2008 and together with Sidi I’ve obtained the best victories in my career until now. With Dino and Rosella Signori, and with all the staff at Sidi, I have a special relationship that goes beyond sports and work. In the second half of this season I switched from the Genius 6.6 Carbon to the new Wire model. They are both highly performing footwear. With the Wire, Sidi has added another gem to its already brilliant collection. I immediately felt comfortable with my Wire shoes. I was especially impressed with the new closure system, which allows for closing the shoe along its entire length using two rotors, which is practical and functional even in the most extreme phases of the race. Although it is extremely light, Wire has maintained an essential Sidi trait; that is the rigidity which is a fundamental aspect that allows you to transfer all your power to the pedal during a race. Every year Sidi shoes raise the bar on technology and comfort applied to cycling footwear.”

TONY MARTIN VISITS SIDI SPORT
Rainbow-coloured Sidi Wire for the TT World Champion
Maser (Treviso), 31 October, 2012 – This week, time trial World Champion Tony Martin paid a visit to Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser (Treviso).
After his second rainbow title the “King of Time” wrapped up his season with three fantastic victories; first in China, where he won a stage in the Tour or Beijing and also captured the final classification for the second consecutive year in the Chinese World Tour; then as a final accomplishment he won the Chrono des Nations in Les Herbiers, France, where he beat the race record by 13 seconds.
On the highest step of the World Championship podium in Valkenburg Tony Martin was wearing his Sidi Wire shoes, the new, top-of-the-line model in the 2013 road racing collection. These Wire shoes were made specifically for the German ace by Dino Signori in a special edition featuring the rainbow colours that distinguish the World Champion.
“It’s been a long, hard season, but I had some fantastic achievements, especially the second World Championship and also the Olympic podium. Now I intend to take some time off physically and mentally for a few weeks before starting to work towards the 2013 season. It’s important to have a break to recuperate some energy. I’m not doing anything special; I’m going to stay at home with my girlfriend and I’ll spend a few days in Germany with my parents, perhaps taking long walks and maybe a few easy mountain bike rides, especially to enjoy myself and relax. Simple things that are difficult to do for a rider who’s always travelling all over the world.”
During his visit to Sidi Martin took the time to meet and thank every member of the Sidi staff one by one. He gave Dino and Rosella Signori one of his rainbow Sidi Wires with his autograph and a special dedication; it is truly a valuable piece, destined to become a part of the collection of great victory items featuring the Sidi Sport stamp. This courtesy visit was also a chance to start working on fine tuning some of the details for the shoes that the World Champion will be using next season.
“Here at Sidi I’ve encountered some special people, exceptional individuals both from a professional standpoint as well as on a human level,” explains the German rider from team Omega Pharma – Quick-Step, who was one of the first riders to field test the new Wire model. “Especially in the time trial, every minimal detail is essential. With all his experience, Dino Signori knows this very well; this is why he tried so hard to live up to my high standards. I’ve learned to always pay close attention to every little detail, from the bike to accessories like the helmet, the body suit and especially the shoes; I’m always motivated by the need to minimize weight and drag and I keep a close eye on aerodynamics. With Sidi Wire I felt comfortable right away. They are high performing, light shoes, but they haven’t lost any of their firmness, an essential aspect in transmitting all your power to the pedal, especially in time trials. The new closure system that lets you close the shoe along its entire length by using two knobs is practical and functional, even during the race, and it insures an even tighter, more enveloping fit to the entire foot. This is an aspect that means a lot to me, so I feel joined to the bicycle and I can push it to the limit.”
Attached are photos of Tony Martin’s visit to the Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser, and of the Champion together with Dino Signori.

SIDI WIRE FOR THE LORD OF THE RINGS
Jury Chechi cycles wearing Sidi Sport shoes
Maser (Treviso), 22 November, 2012 – Jury Chechi paid a much anticipated visit to Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser (Treviso). Also known as “the Lord of the Rings” due to his formidable talents, Chechi comes from Prato, in Tuscany. He has become a true legend in gymnastics, dominating in the rings category during the 90’s and bringing home a fantastic Olympic gold medal in gymnastics from the ’96 Atlanta Games, 32 years after Menichelli’s victory in the freestyle at the 1964 Tokyo Games.
In addition to Olympic gold, his trophies include five consecutive World Titles from 1993 to 1997, which made him the first gymnast in history to win 5 championship medals back to back in one specialty. Not to mention the myriad gold medals garnered among European and University competitions and the Mediterranean games, which have always been one of the biggest gymnastics events.
Also unforgettable was his Olympic final in the rings at Athens 2004, where Jury Chechi captured an unexpected yet spectacular bronze; Sidi got a chance to meet and befriend Jury after the 2004 Olympics, in which another great athlete from Sidi Sport, the legendary Paolo Bettini, enjoyed victory. It turns out Bettini is Chechi’s friend as well as his cycling buddy.
Jury is an ex-gymnast by profession and a bike rider for passion. “Cycling is one of my greatest passions, I really love and enjoy pedalling; every year I ride many kilometres and I also participate in a lot of gran fondo events,” says Chechi. “It was actually my friendship with Paolo Bettini, a Tuscan and Olympian like me, that contributed to my growing passion for bikes. At fist impression you’d never guess, but cycling and gymnastics have a lot in common: they are beautiful sports which require a lot of effort, you need to train hard for both of them and they both require plenty of sacrifice. At Sidi I’ve met a lot of exceptional people, real friends, and whenever I get the chance I make sure to stop in and say hi to Dino Signori, with whom I enjoy a relationship of mutual friendship and esteem. Some of the greatest cycling champions of all time have passed through these doors at Sidi and for me it’s an honour to be here. I’ve always been comfortable in Sidi shoes and now I can’t wait to road test my new Sidi Wire, which I received personally from Dino Signori himself.”

ANDREA DOVIZIOSO & SIDI SPORT
Dovi to wear Sidi Vortice boots as he pursues a new adventure with Ducati
Maser (Treviso), 23 November, 2012 - Sidi Sport will continue supporting Andrea Dovizioso on his Moto GP adventure. In fact, the Italian rider has renewed his deal with Sidi Sport for another year. As always, he will continue sporting his Sidi Vortice boots, the number one footwear for speed and track from the Sidi-branded collection.
2012 was an important year for Dovi, who was riding for team Tech 3 Yamaha together with Cal Crutchlow, another Sidi champion. He made it to the third step on the podium six times (Catalonia, Holland, Germany, Italy, Indianapolis and Aragon) and closed out the season in fourth place in the overall World rankings with 218 points.
In 2013 Andrea Dovizioso will be in for another important test. He’s turning a new page, with the will and determination to grow even further. In fact, his official Ducati team motorcycle is waiting for him. He will be riding for Ducati along with American Nicky Hayden.
“The 2012 season gave me some fantastic gratifications,” explained Andrea Dovizioso during his visit to the Sidi stand at the EICMA fair in Milan, where he was literally overwhelmed by fans vying for his picture and autograph. “Now this move to Ducati opens a new, important chapter in my career. After the fist tests in Valencia I can say I’m happy with the instant rapport I felt with the new team, and the feeling I had with the bike, both on dry and wet surfaces. It’s always a big change to get on a new motorcycle and it takes time to get to know and understand the machine. However, on my bike I can always count on my Sidi Vortice boots. Boots are an essential accessory, they represent the point where the rider becomes one with his motorcycle. My Vortice boots mean a lot to me; not only are they custom made to fit me, they have been personalised with my initials A.D., printed on the leather of the boot, and they feature special graphics. I’d like to thank Sidi sport for their faith in me and the support they’ve shown me throughout the years. I hope to continue our enterprises and reciprocate by giving it my all on the track to obtain results which I hope will get better and better.”
An Italian rider, an Italian motorcycle and Italian boots make up a winning combination marked by the Italian green, white and red flag, which Sidi sport hopes will bring good luck to Andrea Dovizioso during his brilliant adventure in Moto GP.

CAL CRUTCHLOW CONTINUES HIS ADVENTURE IN MOTO GP WITH SIDI SPORT
In 2013Crutchlow and Smith will form an all-Sidi attack team riding for Team Yamaha Tech 3
Maser (Treviso), 28 November, 2012 – The World motorcycling season has just wrapped up but the champions from the Sidi Sport stables are already looking ahead to 2013. Among these aces the name Cal Crutchlow stands out. Born in Britain in 1985 and riding for team Monster Yamaha Tech 3, this year Crutchlow made it to the third step on the podium twice, first in the Czech Republic GP and then in Australia, where he closed out the season in seventh place in the world rankings.
Cal Crutchlow has already been a World Champion in Supersport and obtained excellent results in Superbike. For 2013 he has decided to continue riding in the Moto GP and he will stay with team Monster Yamaha Tech 3. As always he can count on his trusty Sidi Vortice boots.
Joining him on the team, fresh out of the Moto2 cadet class, will be his fellow countryman Bradley Smith, who will also be wearing Sidi boots. The two British riders will thus make up a spectacular attack pair, completely branded by Sidi Sport. The two Brits already made their debut in the two days of tests that took place on theValencia circuit immediately after the Wold Cup race. After the first day of lousy weather, on the second day Crutchlow closed out his 28 laps in second place right on the heels of Dani Pedrosa; Smith instead was trying out his new motorcycle, riding for 43 laps and placing eleventh.
“I’m happy to be continuing my adventure in Moto GP,” says Crutchlow. “I have enormous faith in the team. In 2013 I think we can be even more competitive. As always, I’m going to be wearing my Vortice boots. I can only thank the Sidi staff for their support and all the faith they’ve invested in me. I’ve been using Sidi boots for many years and they’ve been with me for the most important achievements in my career. I hope that together we can obtain many more.”
Here attached some photos of Cal Crutchlow during the 2012 season.

Acqua2: the full, rain-proof suit from the Sidi Sport collection
Maser (Treviso), 19 December, 2012 – When motorcyclists are on the road, they are the most vulnerable to weather conditions; wind and rain are their greatest adversaries. “This is a journey to demonstrate that our only limits are the ones we impose on ourselves, not those associated with diabetes or poverty,” explains Talini. “Diabetes is not a limit; actually, I consider it a school of life.”

CYCLING IN WINTER
WIND? RAIN? …NO PROBLEM! NOW THERE’S SIDI TUNNEL
Maser (Treviso), 10 January, 2013 – The Sidi Tunnel model are one of the most valid shoe covers in the Sidi Sport collection. These covers are especially suited to the winter season, but that’s not all; Tunnel is made with the new Air Tunnel material, which can maintain proper body temperature during races and training, even in intense windy and rainy weather conditions.
Air Tunnel is made with a special elasticised material featuring a breathable, 3-mesh membrane applied to the inside; there is a waterproof membrane on the outside, and it’s all covered in a soft fabric. These two membranes are what make the Tunnel model so extraordinarily water proof and wind proof. This is a highly technical and performing shoe cover, easy to get on and close, thanks to its rear zipper, and also nice to look at with attractive graphics.

SIDI SPORT SIDE BY SIDE WITH NEW TEAM CANNONDALE PRO CYCLING
Sidi Wire to be worn by Ivan Basso, Peter Sagan, Moreno Moser, Elia Viviani & company
Maser (Treviso), 14 January, 2013 – After eight years of collaboration and success with Team Liquigas, Sidi Sport is continuing our adventures along with new Team Cannondale Pro Cycling, led as always by team manager Roberto Amadio.
There will be plenty of champions numbering the Team Cannondale Pro Cycling ranks, including headliners like Ivan Basso, the man to watch in the major tours, Peter Sagan, the Incredible Hulk, who leaves his mark on every race, Moreno Moser, the emerging talent, and Elia Viviani, fast and victorious on the road and on the track. They will be in the pack with lots of other, hungry, ambitious riders who are eager to break out and grab the spotlight on all fronts, whether it’s the major stage races or the classics.
All the athletes on the team will be sporting Sidi Sport shoes on their feet. The riders from Cannondale Pro Cycling will be able to rely on Sidi Wire, the new, top-of the-line model in the 2013 Sidi Sport road collection, produced entirely in patent leather and carbon micro-fibre, with a combination of technology and design that has led to the creation of a shoe that is consistently lighter and higher-performing than other footwear. The closure system is the most remarkable facet of the Wire model. In fact, the shoe features an exclusive, cutting-edge mechanism called Tecno-3 System, which seals the entire length of the shoe with two dials that help the uppers conform perfectly to the shape of each individual foot, thus creating a personalized fit.
In the 2013 season our partnership will be even stronger; in fact, the Sidi Sport logo will also appear on the Team Cannondale Pro Cycling jerseys.
“Through the enterprises of its champions the partnership with Team Liquigas has also led Sidi to some significant accomplishments,” explained Dino Signori, founder and owner of Sidi Sport. “We’ve been through many exciting years together, on a long adventure that has brought both of us fantastic joy and unforgettable victories, which have already become a part of cycling legend. Backing up Team Liquigas we have found worthy people who make up a serious and professional work group with whom we’ve built a deep and lasting bond, season after season. This is one of the main reasons which motivated us to also reaffirm our commitment to the new, international-calibre Team Cannondale Pro Cycling, which is part of the World Tour but which also remains a representative symbol of Italy, deeply tied to our territory. Obviously, the new stars-and-stripes sponsorship will lend the team an even more important role on the American cycling scene, in a geographical area where Sidi already enjoys considerable visibility through our overseas branch, Sidi America.”
“Throughout the years we’ve created a special relationship with Sidi,” explains team manager for Cannondale Pro Cycling Roberto Amadio, “which goes beyond sponsorship. It’s an enormous satisfaction and a great source of pride to know that Sidi continues to stand by us. Now we can make use of maximum high quality in a product like shoes, which are fundamental for a rider. We are ready to take off together for new, ambitious finish lines, to share in the joy of fresh accomplishments.”
Here attached are a photo of the model with personalized Team Cannondale Pro Cycling graphics and the team’s new jersey, featuring the Sidi Sport logo.

Sidi will find new champions at the Lampre-Merida house, as well as champions with whom we’ve collaborated in the past, obtaining fantastic victories, and champions with whom we’ve been working for many years. Among the most prestigious names on Team Lampre-Merida some that definitely stand out include Damiano Cunego, Filippo Pozzato, who has always been one of the most out standing riders from the Sid Sport pool; Alessandro Petacchi and Michele Scarponi, athletes of the highest standards who will be backed up by plenty of young talent like - to name a few - Diego Ulissi, Elia Favillli, Mattia Cattaneo and several others who make up the team’s green line.

I hope this new partnership will allow both of them to achieve prestigious results. As always, Sidi has done its best to provide riders with a shoe that is light, technical and comfortable, but also nice to look at, with attractive graphics. In fact, for Team Lampre-Merida the Sidi Wire model has a “special edition” design, specifically developed to coordinate with the team’s official colours.”

TERENZO BOZZONE: THE IRONMAN FROM THE SIDI SPORT STABLES
With him are Sidi T3 shoes: light, breathable and easy to get on
13 February, 2013, Maser (Treviso) – When the going gets tough, the tough get going. This is the case for New Zealand’s Terenzo Bozzone (http://terenzo.blogspot.com) the super strong triathlete from the Sidi Sport pool. Here is an athlete we can regard as a downright Man of Steel. In fact, Bozzone is a specialist in the Ironman 70.3 a discipline in which the distances are longer compared to the classic or Olympic triathlon, that is to say: a 1.9 km swim (1.2 miles), 90 km bike ride (56 miles) and a 21.097 km run, half a marathon (13,1 miles), for a total 70.3 miles.
Terenzo Bozzone was born in 1985 inSouth Africabut he competes for New Zealand, where he has confirmed himself as one of the utmost leaders in this specialty, winning several international trials in all corners of the world, from Oceania to Asia, passing through the United Statesand South America. His surname, Bozzone, clearly comes from Italian stock (note: Terenzo’s brother’s name is Dino, like the founding owner of Sidi, Dino Signori).
His numerous successes include the World Championship title in the Ironman 70.3 distance in the 2008 World Championship Series held inClearwaterFlorida, where he won ahead ofGermany’s Andreas Raelert and Australian Richie Cunningham (the Rainbow World Championships have been held every November since 2006). Considering the titles he also won in the Under23 and Junior categories, Terenzo has been World Champion 5 times.
Three disciplines, all wrapped in to one unique, intense sport: swimming, cycling and running are the combined ingredients that make triathlon the one of the most gruelling and spectacular sports events in the world. In the economy of the race it’s the cycling section that is the most decisive. The cycling segment is highly selective and the triathletes need a shoe that can guarantee maximum performance without sacrificing comfort to the foot, which undergoes significant stress for prolonged periods of time.
This is why Sidi has come up with their new shoes, the T3 Carbon Composite and the T3 Air Carbon Composite (with the uppers made in perforated material). These shoes are light, extremely breathable and easy to get on and off. Technology and an attractive look are the essential characteristics that make the Sidi T3 models some of the best shoes for cycling, and they are specifically designed for endurance and multi-discipline activities like triathlon (swimming, cycling and running) and duathlon (cycling and running). This model is also available to Iron Ladies in the T3 Air Carbon Composite Woman version, with a fit designed specifically for the needs of feminine feet.

Just to name a few of the plentiful victories obtained at the start of the season: the first 2013 triumph belongs to Andrea Palini (Lampre-Merida) and comes from the African roads of the Tropicale Amissa Bongo; then there were those at the Tour Down Under, in Australia, by Geraint Thomas (Sky Procycling) in the second stage and then by Tom Jelte Slagter (Blanco Pro Cycling) who won the third stage and took the overall classification.
Sidi also enjoyed the spoils inOmanwith stage victories by Peter Sagan (the first in 2013 with the new Cannondale Pro Cycling) bulls eyes by Purito Rodriguez (Katusha) as well as French champion Nacer Bouhanni (Francaise des Jeux) and especially by Chris Froome (Sky Procycling), winner of one stage and the final classification in the Tour of Oman.

MOTOCROSS MX1 WORLD SERIES: IT’S A DOUBLE FOR TONY CAIROLI IN THAILAND!
Sidi Sport scores another magical victory
Maser (Treviso), 11 March, 2013 - Tony Cairoli gave a fantastic performance on Sunday in the Thailand Grand Prix, which qualifies as the second test in the 2013 Motocross World Series. The outstanding pilot from the Sidi Sport pool has won his 55th career grand prix race and recaptured the red card that distinguishes the leader in the World Series standings.
Cairoli accomplished truly magnificent feat; with an amazing comeback he won race1 and then he also dominated the Superfinal, which, according to regulations, saw the best 20 riders from MX1 and the top 20 from MX2 together in a single heat in this second round of the championship series. It was a victory for Cairoli and a victory for Sidi as well, with its champion as always on the top step of the podium with his Sidi Crossfire 2 boots.
The World Series is just getting started, but the first two races so far have shown a Cairoli in top form and from what we can see he has every intention of aiming for his seventh, rainbow-tinged championship title. The man fromMessina(Sicily) now leads the general classification in the World Championship with a 95 point advantage over Desalle, who is in second place with 87 points. Cairoli’s team mate Ken De Dyckers, who also wears Sidi Crossfire 2 boots, also had a great race inThailand, coming in second in race1 and fifth in the final classification of the grand prix.
THE PARIS-NICE & TIRRENO-ADRIATICO BOTH BIG HITS FOR SIDI SPORT
From France to Italy, Sidi stars along with its champions
Maser (TV), 13 March, 2013 - Sidi Sport played a major role in both the Paris-Nice and the Tirreno-Adriatico, the two most important stage races in this start of the season.
The Sidi colors got some great satisfaction on the roads ofFrance, with victory in the final classification going to Australian Richie Porte (Team Sky), who built his success with victory in the 5th, challenging mountain stage, and in the final, 9.6 km time trial.
At the Paris-Nice Sidi also won the second stage featuring a sprinting arrival with Frenchman Nacer Bouhanni (Fdj), already a success story in this start of the season, sharing an all-Sidi podium with Ale Jet Petacchi (Lampre-Merida), second, and Elia Viviani (Cannondale) third.
InItaly, in the race between two seas, victory in the general classification remained elusive for Sidi and Chris Froome (Team Sky) who, after a fine victory in the 5th stage at Prati di Tivo, had to give up the light blue leader's jersey in the last two stages to Vincenzo Nibali.
However, all the Sidi athletes raced as major players, obtaining 5 stage victories: in addition to Froome's triumph, another two came from Peter Sagan (Cannondale), who captured the second and the sixth fractions; one stage, the fifth, belonged to Purito Rodriguez (Katusha), and to conclude the splendid triple crown, in the final time trial first place went to the World Champion in this specialty, Tony Martin (Omega Pharma - Quick Step). Adriano Malori (Lampre-Merida) was second andCosta Rica's Andrey Amador (Movistar) took third. Not to mention the leader's jersey worn first byPoland's Michal Kwiatkowski (Omega Pharma - Quick Step) and subsequently by Chris Froome.
Now it's time for Sidi Sport and its champions to look ahead to the first great classic of the season, the Milano-Sanremo, the "Springtime Super-Classic" scheduled on Sunday, March 17th.
SIDI FAENZA
THE SOFT, LIGHT COMFORTABLE SOCK FOR MOTORCYCLING
Maser (Treviso), 01 March, 2013 - Motorcyclists know that it is not only important to choose the right boot but also the proper sock to wear with it. In fact, it is fundamental that a sock fits well and that the foot remains comfortable while riding. On any type of terrain and in any sort of weather, the sock is essentially the element that joins the foot to the boot.
Among the various models in the Sidi Sport collection we can find the Faenza sock, designed and developed specifically for motorcycling. Faenza is extremely versatile and particularly suited to motocross, but it's also a perfect match for any boot from the Sidi collection and adapted to any style of riding, not just off road but also for track or tourism.
Faenza is made in Meryl, a soft, light and comfortable micro-fibre. The fabrics made with this material release sweat more quickly and allow for faster drying time.
Faenza guarantees the closest attention to details in order to provide maximum comfort to the foot. For example, in the areas of the tibia and the top of the foot, the material features tiny perforations which guarantee improved breathability. A spongy protection covers the front part of the sock and the calf, which are particularly sensitive areas that are subject to pressure inside the boot. This is why the heel and the toe, two other areas that rub against the boot, are also reinforced.
Faenzais available in sizes S/M L/XL in the white/red version and in the black/gray version (5cm shorter).
Discover all the details of Sidi Faenza socks in the attached specs file.
Faenza socks, like all the other products from the Sidi Sport collection, are available at the finest motorcycling clothing and accessories shops.
MX1, QATAR GP: TONY CAIROLI BREAKS OUT WITH QUITE THE SHOW
Accompanying Cairoli on his new world adventure are his Sidi Crossfire 2 boots
Maser (Treviso) 04 March, 2013 - Antonio Cairoli’s showmanship was on full display at the Qatar Gran Prix, the race that opened the 2013 motocross world series during an exceptional night-time race on Saturday, March 2nd.
In the first heat, after a poor departure that put him back in eighth place, Cairoli made a spectacular comeback, passing rider after rider to make it back into third place.
The rules for the second heat in Losail saw the 20 best riders from the MX1 lined up together with the 20 top riders from the MX2 in a one-and-only Super-final; it was an experiment that will be repeated in all extra-European races.
It was in this very same super-final that Antonio Cairoli took off in a strong position from the very start. In the first curve he was in third place and then he blew away all the competition to take off in solitary towards a memorable victory.
With his third place in the first heat and his first place in the Super-final, Antonio Cairoli captured second place overall in the Qatar GP, close on the heels of his biggest rival, 2012 Vice-World Champion Clemente Desalle from Belgium. Frenchman Gautier Paulin came in third.
It was a great achievement for Sidi Sport as well, who saw their ace reaffirm himself as the man to beat in the MX1 world series. As always, his Sidi Crossfire 2 boots shared part in Cairoli’s triumph.
The next appointment in the motocross World Series will be on Sunday, March 10th in Thailand.

SIDI SPORT CONTINUES RIDING A WAVE OF SUCCESS
All the wins from Europe to the Far-East
Maser (Treviso), 04 March, 2013 – Wherever great cycling is enjoyed, riders from the Sidi Sport pool are always winning and making it on to the podium. From east to west, Sidi has been riding an unstoppable wave of victories. These last few days in Italy Sidi has had the satisfaction of obtaining two spectacular triples. The GP Camaiore featured an all-Sidi podium with Peter Sagan (Cannondale Pro Cycling), Diego Ulissi (Lampre-Merida) and Rinaldo Nocentini (Ag2r). It was a repeat performance on the white roads of the Strade Bianche, the so-called Italian Roubaix that takes place on the dirt roads that criss-cross the hills of the Tuscan countryside, with victory going to Moreno Moser (Cannondale Pro cycling) ahead of his team mate Peter Sagan and Rinaldo Nocentini, who once again came in third place.
Then on Sunday in the Roma Maxima, the magnificent race that brought the Giro del Lazio back into the spotlight, although Sidi did not win, it was a satisfying achievement to see our Pippo Pozzato (Lampre-Merida) on the podium in second place. This year Pozzato is in top form and he has already won the Trofeo Laigueglia.
Our satisfaction was all the more complete because Cannondale Pro Cycling and Lampre-Merida are the two teams sponsored by Sidi Sport on which all riders use Sidi Wire shoes.
Finally, looking further to the east, from the roads ofMalaysiacomes another great Sidi victory. The young Colombian rider from Team Nippo-De Rosa Julian david Arredondo, after having dominated the mountain stages in the Tour de Langkawi, ended up in the lead of the final classification for the Malaysian stage race, which was attended by some of the best teams from the World Tour circuit.

MAGICAL DOUBLE SIGNED SIDI SPORT
Peter Sagan wins the la Gent-Wevelgem and Diego Ulissi takes the Coppi & Bartali week
Maser (Treviso), 25 March, 2013 – Sunday, March 24th brought tremendous satisfaction to the Sidi colours. From the North came the victory by Peter Sagan (Cannondale Pro Cycling) in a classic as important as the Gent-Wevelgem, which was made even harder this year by some really lousy weather conditions.
Contemporaneously, on the Italian roads of the International Coppi & Bartali week, Diego Ulissi (Lampre-Merida) added the final touches to his success in the general classification. On the second place of the podium his teammate Damiano Cunego. It was a Coppi & Bartali where Sidi and its athletes clinched innumerable wins, stage after stage. In addition to Sidi there was the satisfaction of winning the green jersey of the best climber, sponsored by Sidi, with Alessandro Mazzi (Utensilnord Ora24.eu).
Sagan and Ulissi are two young guys with fantastic talent that share something in common in their success: their Sidi Wire shoes, the top-of-the-line models in the Sidi Sport on-road collection. Cannondale Pro Cycling and Lampre-Merida, the two Italian formations on the World Tour circuit, are both completely branded Sidi Sport. This important partnership has already brought some remarkable results for the start of the season.
But for Sidi the satisfaction doesn’t end here. In fact, in the weekend that just wrapped up Sidi figured as a major player on roads all overEurope. From France and the Criterium International where Sidi scored another double with the pair from Team Sky, Chris Froome and Richie Porte, who came in first and second respectively in the final classification, to Spain at the Volta a Catalunya where Sidi made it to the final podium with Purito Rodriguez (Katusha), second, and Michele Scarponi, Lampre-Merida again, third.
IT'S A SIDI SPORT PARTY AT THE HOLLAND GP
CAIROLI AND DE DYCKER DOUBLE IN MX1 - CHIARA FONTANESI WINS THE WOMEN'S RACE
Maser (Treviso), 02 April, 2013 - Antonio Cairoli couldn't miss an appointment with victory, and he ruled once again even at the Holland Grand Prix, the third test in the motocross MX1 World Series held on Monday, April 1st.
On the sandy circuit at Valkenswaard Cairoli put all his adversaries in line in race1 and then in race2 all he needed was second place, on the heels of team mate Ken De Dycker, to clinch the final classification of the Grand Prix.
Cairoli and De Dycker, who form the formidable pair of attackers for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team, divvied up a heat each, respectively capturing first and second place in the final standings for the GP.
It was also a double satisfaction for Sidi Sport, with riders on the top two spots of the podium sporting Crossfire2 boots, the number one in off road and motocross, worn by Cairoli as well as the ever stronger and increasingly competitive De Dycker.
In virtue of this result Tony Cairoli has reinforced his leadership in the general classification of the World Series with 142 points, followed by Desalle with 116 and De Dycker with 115.
Rounding out the great success for Sidi inHollandwas Chiara Fontanesi, Queen of the Sidi Sport stables. She was also accompanied by her inseparable Crossfire2 boots. The reigning WMX World Champion confirmed herself immediately as the number one in the category, dominating the first round of the season. Fontanesi had no rivals on the Valkenswaard circuit as she scored her first season double at the end of two fantastic heats.
HIT THE TRACK WITH THE CHAMPIONS FROM SIDI SPORT!
The 2013 World Series opens Sunday in Qatar
Maser (Treviso), 5 April, 2013 - on Sunday, April 7th, the Qatar Grand Prix will officially get things started for the opening the 2013 MotoGP season.
After the winter tests and the first race on the track in Losail, things are finally starting to get serious. As always there are plenty of champions in the lineup and pilots from the Sidi Sport pool will definitely figure among the major players. On the track and also (we hope) on the podium they'll be wearing Sidi Vortice boots, the number one boot from the Sidi Sport speed collection.
A the beginning there will be six Sidi pilots lining up on the starting grid for the MotoGP. Sidi can count on the pair of attackers from Team Tech 3 – Yamaha, comprised of Britain's Cal Crutchlow, born in 1986 and already the winner of the World Title in the Supersport category and very fast in the winter trials, and Bradley Smith, the talented twenty two year old who's eager to make his mark.
Other Sidi- branded stars include Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati), Italian born in 1986, Alvaro Bautista (Gresini – Honda), Spaniard born in 1984, and Hiroshi Aoyama (Avintia – FTR Kawasaki), Japanese born in 1981.
And we couldn't forget the great “Texas Tornado”, American Colin Edwards (Forward - FTR Kawasaki) who has always been one of the most outstanding pilots from the Sidi Sport stables. At 39 years old he has confirmed himself as the veteran in world class motorcycling and he still strives to entertain the crowds and enjoy himself.
Sidi Vortice boots will also accompany Michele Pirro. Starting this year the Italian rider will be the official test pilot for the Ducati Test Team. During the course of the season he will take part in some world series races as a wild card. He did great work in the winter tests which contributed to the development and fine tuning of the motorcycle.
Attached is a photo of the Vortice boots worn by Sidi Sport champions.

MOTOCROSS:TRENTINO BELONGS TO SIDI
Cairoli and De Dycker in MX1. Jonass and Lundgren in EMX125
Maser (Treviso), 15 April, 2013 – Sunday in Italy in the Trentino GP, the fourth act in the MX1 World Series, Antonio Cairoli scored another magic double in front of more than 20 thousand spectators. The records' champion thus brings his career victory quota to 57. Winning is never easy but Cairoli rode the two rounds with great authority as always, riding to win, have fun and especially to fire up the fans in the stands.
It was also a fine satisfaction for Sidi Sport with their Crossfire2 boots, the number one in motocross, that made it to the top step of the podium with Cairoli as well as to the second place spot with his team mate Ken De Dycker, the Belgian who is fast becoming a sure thing. Thanks to this result Cairoli has further increased his lead in the world championship classifications, where he is firmly in command with 192 points, followed by his team mate De Dycker with 155 and by Desalle with 149.
The first round of the European Motocross Championship in EMX125 was also held on the Arco circuit, where Lithuanian Pauls Jonass took home the grand prize with a remarkable double, followed on the podium by the Swede Anton Lundgren. Both athletes race on the KTM from Team Jacky Martens, which is sponsored by Sidi Sport, so of course, they were wearing Sidi Crossfire2 boots.
SUPERSPORT: FORET DELIVERS THE ARAGON GP TO SIDI
With him there is his Sidi Vortice boots
Maser (Treviso), 16 April 2013 - Sidi Sport is reaffirming itself as a major player on the track with Fabien Foret (Kawasaki ZX-6R) who on Sunday won the Supersport race in the Aragon Grand Prix, in Spain, prevailing at the finish line over newcomer Michael Van der Mark, who was second, and Luca Scassa, third.
It was a performance to remember for Foret, who at the age of 40 is confirming himself as a veteran in Supersport; nonetheless, he still has a lot to give and say on the track. Thanks to all of his experience and determination Foret returned once again to the top of the podium accompanied by his inseparable Sidi Vortice boots, the number one in speed and on the track.
It was a difficult and spectacular race which unfortunately saw the premature exit from the scene by another great champion from the Sidi Sport stables, Turkey's Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki), winner of the first race of the season at Phillip Island in Australia. The Turkish rider was super fast in the trials and shot out from pole position, but after just two laps he was forced to give up and go back to the pits due to a problem with his brakes.
Thanks to this splendid victory Foret has also gained the leadership in the world classification where he now commands with 38 points. The next race will be on the spectacular circuit in Assen, Holland, on April 28th.

SECOND PLACE FOR TONY CAIROLI IN BULGARIA
The Sidi champion continues his lead in the World Series
Maser (Treviso), 22 April, 2013 – The fifth round of the 2013 MX1 World Series took place on the Sevlievo circuit inBulgaria. This track has never been very lucky for Tony Cairoli, who has “only” won here once in his career.
This time again in Bulgaria Cairoli, who as always was wearing his Sidi Crossfire 2 boots, had to settle for a mere victory in the second heat and the second step on the final podium of the Grand Prix. For someone who is used to winning all the time second place is never enough, but this second place is worth important points that will keep Cairoli in the lead of the overall rankings for the World Series.
“I’m happy because I haven’t been on the podium here since 2007; I’ve never really liked the track here at Sevlievo and it’s never brought me much luck,” explains the Sicilian champion from KTM. “So today’s second place is good from the championship standpoint, I’m happy for the heat victory and the points I’ve earned.”
In the first round, which was won by Frenchman Paulin, Cairoli didn’t get off to a good start but then he pulled off a great rebound that put him into fourth place. However in the second heat Tony made a quick comeback and gave an excellent performance to put everyone in line behind him at the finish line as he came in ahead of Paulin and Desalle.
The next race in the motocross World Series is scheduled for May 5 inPortugal, where Cairoli is expected to get back where he belongs: at the top step of the podium.

Final victory for Chris Froome. Sidi champions capture the classifications and 5 stages.
Maser (Treviso), 29 April, 2013 - Sidi Sport was a major player at the Tour de Romandie, which took place from April 23rd to the 28th on the roads of Switzerland. Once again Britain's Chris Froome from Team Sky made it to the highest step on the podium in the yellow jersey. It was his seventh win of the season and, as always, he was wearing his Wire shoes, the number one footwear in Sidi's road riding collection.
Sidi shined day after day in the short yet important Swiss stage race thanks to formidable champions who not only captured the final classifications, but also won 5 out of the 6 scheduled stages, leaving very little room for their adversaries in the pack.
Froome won the inaugural prologue of the Tour de Romandie, then the Belgian from Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Gianni Meersman clinched two stage successes; Lithuanian Ramunas Navardauskas (Garmin-Sharp) also took a stage and the final cherry was a victory by Time Trial World Champion Tony Martin (Omega Pharma-Quick-Step) in the conclusive time trial stage in Geneva, ahead of the brilliant Italian Adriano Malori from team Lampre-Merida.

Crossfire2 for Marcel Hirscher, Sidi Wire for Manfred Moelgg
Maser (Treviso), 03 May, 2013 - Sidi Sport confirms its passion for snow and skiing. In fact, lots of champions from the white circuit have always used Sidi footwear and other products from the Sidi Sport collection for the bicycle training that is an integral part of a skier's physical regimen.
These athletes include Austrian Marcel Hirscher, the star of the Wunderteam who won the absolute Alpine Skiing World Cup in 2012 and in 2013. This year at the World Championships in Schaldmig, in front of his home crowd, Hirscher captured the gold medal in the special slalom and the silver medal in the giant slalom. He is also a big fan of motocross. Obviously, the number one world skier could only wear the number one boot for motocross, the Sidi Crossfire2.
Manfred Moelgg recently dropped in to Sidi's general headquarters in Maser to pay a visit to Dino and Rosella Signori as well as all his friends on the Sidi staff. He also came to fine-tune his new Sidi Wire shoes, the top of the line footwear from the Sidi Sport collection for the road, which Moelgg wears on all his bike rides. In his usual outgoing style Manfred couldn't resist a visit to the showroom displaying ski boots produced by Sidi in the 60's, where he got his picture taken with Dino Signori.

He scored a splendid double victory in the E2 category, dominating both days of racing. As always, Cervantes signed his masterpiece wearing his Sidi Crossfire 2 boots, the number one off road boot from the Sidi Sport collection.
'I'm very happy, it was a great weekend. After Chile and Argentina I finally had a perfect two days. I couldn't ask for anything more, I knew that we could do well here but capturing two victories was truly the best. The entire team worked really hard and this was our just reward. It's an important result that boosts our confidence and morale as we look forward to the next race in Portugal, at Torre Vedras. Now we know that we can beat any adversary' explains Cervantes, who has his eye on the World leadership currently held by Alex Salvini.

A DAY AT THE GIRO D’ITALIA FOR SIDI SPORT DISTRIBUTORS
The excitement for the Pink Race
Maser (Treviso), 17 May, 2013 – This week the Sidi general Headquarters in Maser (Treviso) hosted its traditional annual meeting for retailers of cycling products from the Sidi Sport collection. As always, lots of distributors of the Sidi brand came from all over the world to participate, from the Far East toNorth America and even from the Old Continent.
All the new items from the Sidi Sport collection were presented during the meeting, which was also a dual opportunity that provided professional updates as well as the chance for retailers and Sidi staff to meet, network and build personal ties. With this in mind, this year Sidi decided to offer a special treat to those distributors attending the meeting, providing them an unforgettable day at the Giro d’Italia. Taking advantage of the passage of the Pink Race through the territory on Thursday, March 16th, for the twelfth, 134-km stage from Longarone toTreviso, Sidi organized a special event to give all its retailers the opportunity to get a closer look at the excitement of the Giro.
The day started with breakfast in the morning at the same hotel that was hosting Team Cannondale Pro Cycling, where the distributors where able to meet and mingle, taking photos with and getting autographs from all the riders led by Elia Viviani, who for the moment in this Giro has captured two excellent second places on the wheels of the king of final sprints, Mark Cavendish. They also got to meet with the technical staff of the team.
Afterward the Sidi group headed to the starting village in Longarone where, in spite of the pouring rain that continued falling throughout the day, the retailers were able to immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere that surrounds the Pink Race. From here they were also able to get a closer look at the other big guns from the Sidi pool and all the riders in the Giro, with a visit to the Team Lampre-Merida bus to drop in on Filippo Pozzato and Michele Scarponi. For the occasion of the Longarone-Treviso stage and in spite of the rain, Pippo Pozzato was sporting a brand new pair of bright, fluorescent pink Sidi Wire shoes, which Sidi Sport designed and produced specially for their champion. There was also particular interest for Cannondale Pro Cycling and Lampre-Merida, which in fact are the two World Tour teams sponsored entirely by Sidi Sport.
Ready, set, go! And the stage took off with the group of Sidi guests following the race route to the mountain GP, which was set up on the gruelling and spectacular wall at Ca’ del Poggio, where the distributors were treated to a much appreciated tasting of typical local products. Then they watched the race ride past and cheered on their favourite champions, with the fugitives in the lead including Sidi athlete Maxim Belkov, who has already won one stage, and the pink jersey group following behind.
Then it was on to the grand finale in Treviso where, indulging in the hospitality offered by local Sidi retailer “Bici Bikes”, the Sidi group enjoyed the last phases of the stage that brought the peloton to the final sprint won by Cannonball, ahead of French champion Nacer Bouhanni, who is one of the emerging talents from the Sidi Sport pool.

IN BRAZIL TONY CAIROLI SCORES A MAGICAL DOUBLE
Victory number 58 in his career is dedicated to Marco Simoncelli
Maser (Treviso), 20 May, 2013 - Tony Cairoli literally dominated the Brazilian GP, the seventh test in the World Series, which saw the motocross circus in action at Beto Carrero, in the immense amusement park that contains the distinctive red dirt track.
Inside the Brazilian game park the man having the most fun was none other than Cairoli. In the MX1 race 1, the Sicilian champion immediately took charge of the situation, conducting a solitary heat all the way to the checkered flag, putting Max Nagl and Clement Desalle in line.
The Superfinal was a little more complicated. After some problems in the beginning, Carioli had to architect a fantastic comeback which saw him come up from the back of the group to second place: Tony could have settled for this but in the final he went full throttle, blowing past Kevin Strijbos and capturing this victory as well.
For him it was a double play that meant victory in the final classification for the Grand Prix, which gave him more important points in the championship series standings, where he continues to lead with 330 points.
Sidi Sport is also immensely pleased and satisfied, since they have the honor of accompanying Tony Cairoli with their Sidi Crossfire2 boots as he continues his extraordinary world series adventure in pursuit of his 7th world title. Cairoli is a phenomenal champion on the track and off, as he proved in Brazil by dedicating his 58th victory to the unforgettable Marco Simoncelli, whose motorcycle number was 58.

GIRO D’ITALIA
SO MUCH PINK EXCITEMENT FOR SIDI!
Maser (Treviso), 28 May, 2013 – After three weeks of racing, with 21 stages covering more than three thousand kilometers, the 2013 Giro d'Italia has come to an end. From Naples to Brescia, passing through the heart of Italy from the sea to the Alps, this was also an extraordinary three weeks for Sidi Sport, which enjoyed fantastic thrills through the enterprises of its champions, who were accompanied on this long, pink adventure by Sidi Wire shoes, the top of the line in the Sidi Sport on road collection.
Almost right away, on the second day of the Giro at Ischia, after the team time trial Sidi got to experience the thrill of wearing the pink jersey thanks to the young Salvatore Puccio (Team Sky). The athletes from the Sidi stables then went on to conquer three fantastic stages: Russian Maxim Belkov (Katusha) dominated the finish line in the 9th stage, the one from San Sepolcro to Firenze which offered a taste of what's to come at the 2013 Tuscan World Championships; Colombian Rigoberto Uran (Team Sky) captured the uphill arrival on the high plain of Montasio in Fiuli and Lithuanian Ramunas Navardauskas (Garmin-Sharp) triumphed in the Tarvisio-Vajont, a deeply significant stage dedicated to the memory of the 1963 tragedy and the victims of the Vajont disaster.
Rigoberto Uran was one of the best riders overall in this Giro d’Italia, considering his second place on the final podium, close on the tires of the pink jersey Vincenzo Nibali. Colombia turned out to be a surprise in the Giro with their fantastic Carlos Alberto Betancur (Ag2r La Mondiale), who came in fifth in the final classification and won the white jersey as the best young rider. The classification for the young riders saw another Sidi athlete in third place,Holland's Wilco Kelderman (Blanco).
The two entirely Sidi-branded formations were also major players at the Giro: Lampre-Merida, which placed two men in the top 10 for this Giro: Michele Scarponi in 4th place and the great Pole Przemyslaw Niemiec in 6th place; and Cannondale Pro Cycling with Damiano Caruso on the climbs and Elia Viviani in the sprints.
A big thanks to all the Sidi champions for the excitement they brought us along the roads of the Giro d’Italia!

The names of two legends like Nino Schurter (Scott Swisspower mtb racing team) and the extraordinary Julien Absalon (BMC mtb racing team) stand out among the ranks of fat tire Sidi champions, who also include the insurmountable Miguel Martinez, Florian Vogel (Scott Swisspower mtb racing team) and the Czech Ondrej Cink (Multivan Merida Biking team). Then there are the women, with super strong Irina Kalentieva (Topeak Ergon Racing Team). Not to mention the young Italian national champions Luca Braidot (2012 World and European Champion with Italy in the team relay race and individual bronze in the European under23) and his twin brother Daniele Braidot (2012 bronze in the under 23 World Championships).

Another great victory scored for Sidi Sport
Maser (Treviso), 10 June, 2013 – In France everybody was really looking forward to the motocross World Series, which returned to action after a two week pause with the GP in Erneé. As expected, the fantastic Antonio Cairoli (Ktm) rose to the occasion. It turned out to be a heated duel, with the champion from the Sidi Sport stables pitted againstFrance’s hometown idol Gautier Paulin.
Paulin initially held the lead over Cairoli, winning race1 and leaving Tony in second place. But in race2 there was nothing anyone could do and Cairoli once again put all his adversaries in line, dominating the heat and the final classification of the Grand Prix. THE QUEEN OF MOTOCROSS STRIKES AGAIN!
Double and world leadership for Kiara Fontanesi in Slovenia
Kiara Fontanesi crowned her latest fantastic performance by scoring a magic double in the World Series WMX motocross race that took place last weekend in Slovenia. With this result the formidable lady’s champion from the Sidi Sport stables, who uses Sidi Crossfire2 boots, reinforces her leadership for the world title.
For her the race in Sloveniawas yet another double header with full points, after the success obtained in Valkenswaard, Holland, last April 2nd. With this fantastic result the ace from Parma and reigning Women’s World Champion looks set to capture her second World Championship title.
Starting Saturday, Kiara, riding her Yamaha with the number 8, was the fastest woman on the track, capturing the qualifying round without too many problems. Then in the race she confirmed her supremacy from the start, setting her pace right away and ending up on a solitary ride as her adversaries were forced to contend amongst themselves for the remaining spots on the podium. Now Kiara Fontanesi leads the World rankings with a 16 point lead over Meghan Rutledge.
The next appointment in the WMX World Series will be on June 16th with the Italian Grand Prix in Maggiora, in conjunction with the men’s World Series, where Sidi once again will see their two star champions together: Kiara Fontanesi and Tony Cairoli, who as always will be wearing their inseparable Sidi Crossfire2 boots.
MOTOCROSS: ANOTHER GREAT WEEKEND FOR SIDI SPORT CHAMPIONS
Kiara Fontanesi fantastic, Ken De Dycker formidable and Tony Cairoli brave
Maser (TV), 17 June, 2013 – On the track at Maggiora (Novara) the MX and WMX circuses got together for the Italian GP and a great weekend of motocross racing. Sidi Sport was thus able to see all its stars together on the track and those that shine the brightest are clearly Tony Cairoli and Kiara Fontanesi, the two number one riders in world class motocross.
It was a bit of an unlucky race for Tony Cairoli in MX1. In fact, in race1 the Sicilian slid to the ground twice, but he didn’t give up and he continued to get back in the game and give it his all to close out in fourth place. Heedless of a problem to his knee, Tony threw himself into the mix in race2 where he managed to clinch second place and thus close out the general classification of the Grand Prix in third place on the heels of his team mate De Dycker and winner Paulin. This good placement allowed him to take home more valuable points for the World Series rankings, in which he maintains a firm lead.
It was up to Ken De Dycker to keep the Sidi colors flying high. In fact, the Belgian definitely deserves a hand for the second place he obtained by taking second place in race1 and third place in race2. He has confirmed himself as another ace from the Sidi stables.
On another front, Kiara Fontanesi was fantastic. She completely lived up to expectations by riding a perfect race and obtaining her sixth consecutive win in as many World Series tests. This result has launched her even closer to a second World Championship title.
To celebrate the Italian race in the motocross World Series, Sidi Sport decided to dedicate special editions of its Sidi Crossfire2 boots to its champions: an all-orange version with the number 222 for Tony, to match his KTM steel steed; Kiara got green, white and red graphics enhanced with the championship rainbow colors and the number 8 that distinguishes her Yamaha; for Keeno it was grey/orange graphics with splashes of the Belgian flag. Three jewels produced by Sidi exclusively for its champions.
It was a great party for Sidi, which was present for the entire weekend on the track in Maggiora with a stand where the large attending crowds were able to meet the champions from the Sidi stables for pictures and autographs and get an up-close look at the extraordinary Crossfire2 boots, the number one footwear for off road, as well as all the other products from the Sidi sport collection.
SIDI SPORT: DINNER WITH...
The visit of Oscar Freire
Maser (Treviso), 18 June, 2013 – It was a blind date for owner and founder of Sidi Sport Dino Signori who, along with his daughter Rosella, accepted an invitation for a blind date on Tuesday evening for dinner at the Hotel Ristorante Fior, a veritable temple to cycling, at Castelfranco Veneto (Treviso).
Once on the scene, he was welcomed at a cocktail with a nice glass of prosecco by three-time World Champion and winner of three Sanremo races, Oscar Freire Gomez, who put together this nice surprise with great elegance and fondness.
I spent practically my entire career together with Dino Signori, racing with Sidi shoes for almost 13 years from 2000 until my last race and achieving great things with them, including my three World Championship titles - explains Oscarito -. With the Signori family and the entire Sidi staff I have a special bond that goes beyond the bicycle. This invitation to dinner was the least I could do in exchange for everything that they’ve ever done for me in all of these years.
It was such a nice surprise - says Dino Signori -. Talking with Oscar is always a pleasure because in addition to being a great athlete he is also a real man, a shining example for young people who are becoming familiar with cycling. With us he has always been truly professional and fair; with his victories he has become one of the greatest of all time, not only among cyclists who have used Sidi shoes, but also in the history of cycling.
